I wonder what speeds we would have if this track came in another era when there was no need to save engines and there were no restrictions to gear ratios setup. It would be insane.

I'm pretty sure Nelson Piquet would bring his Hockenheim/Monza setup of 5 bar of boost, lowest drag possible and without the first 2 gears on the Brabham BMW

I'm always scared by turns 18-19, on F1 2019 I've had like 5-10 humungous crashes there, I know it's probably easier in an F1 car than a G29/simulator but a small failure or one guy not giving room could be catastrophic. They're already doing 280kmh through there.

Says a lot that after Senna's death they changed the final sector of Montreal from the high speed right/left/right before the chicane into being a straight for safety, now 20 years later they make a track that's like that but on steroids...

It's great for slipstreaming (I love onboards from cars hunting down a car that's a mere spec in the distance as they get into the acceleration zone and watching as they get closer and closer into something they can lunge past into turn 1) but yeah, one accident and you might hit a concrete wall head on

judging by driving standarts I can see Mazepin doing what Kovalainen did with Webber in 2010

This was one of the scariest moments (at 4:20). Magnussen either had zero awareness or chose to defend like a moron.

That crash caused the debris which punctured Bottas's tyre next lap.

I had forgotten that from Magnussen, why the hell does that not warrant a race ban?

This isn't even about proving it was intentional or not (if you do something like this intentionally, you'd need to have your whole license revoked). Even as a honest mistake or overlook, it's bad and dangerous enough to deserve a race ban. We expect better from pro F1 drivers.

In the early 2000s V10 era they were already doing high 370s at Monza before turn 1, unassisted. I think at Baku with the same aero trim they could've gone really close to 400. Hell, with DRS and draft it would be guaranteed.

With every move Magnussen did, I questioned myself if it was intentionally or if he just didn´t know any better. Because Grosjean did the same, I blame the mirrors on the Haas cars. To give them at least that last element of doubt in their favor.

What next? His helmet gets stuck on his head? Oh no, he's stuck in the john!
Drive to Survive will have a nice sitcom-episode: "Mr. Bean in F1 - Starring Valtteri Bottas".

If the current times are an indication for the rest of the weekend Wolf and Mercedes will throw a hizzy fit over the rear wings. Both RBR and Ferrari have them.
