That could've so nearly have been the Kovalainen-Webber moment people were predicting earlier in the thread. :slaphead:

It was quite dishonorable for Maz to wobble the car that way in front of your teammate, just like being a duelist and shoot before the signal.

Magnussen style this one. Let's not forget Mazepin is a dirty driver too. He's just been too slow to have the opportunity to show his antics this year.

Did you forget Imola already? The difference is that it didn´t cost him anything then.

ah yeah haha he better get his grip together. Luck for him is Paul Ricard, an easy and boring race

This is the first time since Japan 2013 that Hamilton, Bottas, and Verstappen fail to score a point at the same race.

You and I have very different definitions of scolding.

Yeah. What Lewis did was more crying like a spoiled baby

You and I have very different definitions of a crybaby.

Hamilton has said he thinks he accidentally triggered a special warm-up mode that shifts the brake bias forward. He messed up, but at least he's able to admit it.

I guess that's the "magic" he referred to on the radio

It's the F1 equivilant of putting the toaster on and going to make a cup of tea, then forgetting and burning your toast.

Aside from that though, that race was 80% processional and 20% batshit insane, so pretty standard Baku then

I like the track, but if there's either SC wildness and stupidity through the field, or sector 2 ends up spreading the field too much for too much drama into Turn 1

It seems we're sacrificing in race excitement for a close championship, so no doubt this'll go down as a classic season just because Max or Lewis win the title in the final race after another parade... :whistling:

Oh well, at least Paul Ricard next, when things will probably be so bad, it'll be staring everyone in the face and hopefully Liberty will cancel the contract to race there in perpetuity.

Great, now he's definitely going to bounce back with pole position, race win and fastest lap in France.

And Toto went on to defend him and saying it wasn't really his mistake. :slaphead:

Bottas best be doing job applications right now.

It is good for Perez that he had this win. This will silence the critics, he is improving every race. He should now be able to beat Bottas on a regular base, and Hamilton too on occasion.

I get that he might want to protect Hamilton from criticism. But yes it looks stupid after he threw Bottas under the bus in Monaco.

And it doesn't look like the best deal for Mercedes. They still need Bottas for the constructors' championship.

that kind of harshness over Bottas gives a bit of confusion. some sources say that if Hamilton clinch the 8th championship (very likely to) he might retire (for now) and thus leaving a seat at Mercedes for Russell

but the poor performance and the internal criticism for Bottas makes me believe that they're just waiting to put the blame on him if they lose constructors championship (very likely given that only Hamilton is doing his job so far) and and thus hiring someone else (maybe an experienced driver that don't compromise like Hulkenberg)

but I don't believe they'll change their whole lineup next season

I would be shocked if its a double change at Merc next year. In fact I will go on record saying it is not going to happen.

It's in his interest to admit the real mistake of a wrong mode. It's silly, but it's less silly than locking up the fronts that bad like a noob, on that slow approach to turn 1.

Did I hear right on instagram this morning that Sebastien Vettel wished Checo...merry christmas for winning? Was he trying to say congratulations or happy birthday to him?

Yeah! That is true. He tried his best with his Spanish and ended up being hilarious. First, he said "Felicitaciones", which I believe is a formal way of saying "Congratulations" and, not sure if he got it right, he tried again. This time he said "Feliz Navidad" which is "Merry Christmas" indeed.
