Anyway, there's a 95% chance this race will be shit of Shit, but there's always that chance someone crashes just at the worst time, brings out the Safety car and it goes from 0/10 to 10/10 immediately.

And, we have Mazepin in the field... :whistling:

Still remembering that GP2 race in 2015 or 2016 which was the first use of the VSC when the equivilant of a Williams or Haas team decided to stay out when the majority of the field had pitted, someone crashed and they decided to try out their fancy new VSC option, they took the oppurtunity to pit and obviously won as a result, because it was Monaco and no-one could get by
And obv they had fresher tyres than those behind them anyway, which is the failing of the whole VSC idea

Which is what they can do under the SC with the delta times too.

I wish F1 would close the pitlane when a SC comes out. Drivers would gamble on different strategies and we could have a few more races like Monza 2020.

at least in races with high chances of SC intervention like Monaco and Singapore

I think that would lead to more Crashgate scandals. Pit your top driver, than crash your second driver as soon as the top driver leaves the pits.
But I do enjoy the closed pits in IndyCar.

At least nowadays we have higher probability for SC than some years ago, when they would clear the crashes under local yellows. Although I think VSC would be enough in most cases, because usually the cars are lifted away within 20 secs after the impact, by which time the SC hasn't even managed to exit the pitlane. Gotta love Monaco marshals :p
But then again, does it make any difference whether or not the gaps are eliminated by the SC if they cannot pass anyway?

By the way 10mm of rain predicted!! For Monday.

Thinking of weather, something I think we've not seen at Monaco at least in the modern era.

Wet qualifying followed by dry race.

Aston Martin sponsor the SC so no doubt F1 will go NASCAR and contrive a way to have it on track on their most prestigious race at some point on Sunday's proceedings

With Lando, Latifi, Tsonda and especially Mazepin though, they probably won't have to fake "Debris"

I know I know, F1 doesn't need more rules, but if ever they needed a new one, it is making sure that only the team AT THE TRACK has any involvement in the weekend. None of the Technical Command Center back at the factory shit, running car simulations galore overnight, delving into the technical and strategy side.

The only reason why the factory would ever be involved is if they have to rush parts from the factory to the team. That is the only thing that should be allowed.

It just creates even more of a disjointed playing field from the big budget teams, adds nothing to the sport and just wastes soo much money.

So who's the first one to bin it? Mazespin is too obvious choice, so I'm gonna say Giovinazzi.

All the comments on F1's social media pages are from people saying that F1 shouldn't be here and that Monaco is a bore-fest. I personally couldn't imagine Monaco not being on the calendar. Yes, qualifying is often more exciting than the race, and sometimes there's no passing at all, but there's something special about these streets. I'm happy just watching the cars going around them inches from the wall. Maybe that's just me.

I'm with you. I don't even know what to say to the people who think F1 shouldn't come here other than - it's Monaco. It belongs on the calendar, end of. It's one of the most unique, historic circuits in the world and watching F1 cars around here will never get old. Who gives a shite if there's no overtaking, it's the same with half the other tracks on the calendar

Alonso crashes at the last corner, but Sky was on commercials. :yuk: Why the hell one would pay to see commercials? If it was FTA, then I would understand.

Try to find an F1TV stream. Uses Sky's audio but no ads.

I know one stream, but it wasn't working. Anyway, I feel for those who pay more than a penny for commercials. There should be class action against Sky. I'm sure there would be, if Netflix started showing ads.
