If reflecting the world under Netflix would mean 30 minute sprint races & reverse grids than I hope Netflix fucks off from F1 ASAP.

one good thing is that seasons might be shorter

given how their shows have 10 episode seasons

RIP F1. Sprint races are nothing compared to what Netflix would do. Probably turns F1 into WWF. Can't wait to see Lewis break champagne bottle on Max's head on podium and Ross Brawn headbutt Michael Masi during the race.

Calm the fuck down, they'll have no influence on the sport.

Besides F1 are fucking up things just fine enough on their own.

Oh and I've kept quiet on this topic because so many people are against it, but I REALLY want to see reverse grid races, I don't care what anyone thinks.

They should try reversed grids…at least in a NC race

Not gonna happen, these manufacturers spend too much time & money on building F1 cars to see them put at the back of the grid by default. The best team will always object to the concept and of course Ferrari still has the veto power.

The bitching cycle never ends. When tyre wear produces great racing drivers start bitching about safety so the tires go back to bulletproof mode and everyone complains about boring races again. The hybrid cars are massively overweight anyway, the best racing was produced by nimble 800 kg cars and now these little tanks just can't overcome the power-to-weight ratio deficit. Add the extra durable tires and the races are processions at most race tracks.

Nimble 600kg cars, you mean. They weight over 795kg next season without the fuel so at the start of the race they weight around 850-880kg range.

Or if we use americanized units, about 1,5 Ferrari F2004s or 1¾ Lotus 49s.

Yes, the late 80s/early 90s cars were barely above 500 kg IIRC, the lowest weight since the wingless early 1960s cars. The weight only goes up with every season. Power-to-weight ratio is the main reason why overtaking is so difficult these days and nobody seems to do anything to address it. The hybrid engines are so heavy it's basically impossible to solve anyway. And they keep dancing around the problem with plethora of ideas that won' work, sprint races, reverse grids, track layout changes etc.

Had an F1-related dream last night. They had changed the sprint qualifying rules so that they race just 1 lap, but they only advance about 1km each time and have a new start from that point. So for example at Monaco they'd race from start to Mirabeau, form the grid again at Mirabeau which has start lights installed, have a new race till Tabac, form the grid again and and put start lights there, and then have a 3rd race to the finish line.

My dream didn't happen at Monaco but some 50s Pescara-type of track where there were no guardrails and people were running on the track. There was lots of havoc in each start, but I only remember Bottas suffering a puncture and that I missed the first start as I couldn't find a channel that shows it.

I imagine Netflix meeting the teams to discuss prize money and finally cutting the historical team bonus to Ferrari because Netflix believes in fair share of profits

I'd like Netflix to do a Bandersnatch-style interactive F1 race

I want them to go fully old school and send me the race weekend through the post on DVD, then I can watch it and send it back before the next one

the weight doesn't bother me as much as the length. cars are too stable and look boring at speed, not to mention difficult to pass on track

But we are told that it is all about safety. I mean look at how DANGEROUS that F2004 is. Total death trap.

There's something endearing about that idea.

We´re going to Qatar this season, with a 10 year deal starting in 2023.

Track is OK for MotoGP, but many people doubt it will be good for F1.
