Massa and Hamilton hit each other in 5 or 6 different races that year.

ah yeah I fondly remember those days when the tires lasted less than 15 laps and since there was only one guy winning the fun was expecting to see when Hamilton and Massa would find each other in the track

Good, if that puts an end to the forcing of sprint races and other gimmicks. Bad, if they replace Brawn with some greedy businessman who knows nothing about F1 and only treats it as a money-making machine.

also tomorrow will be the final race under Jean Todt as FIA president

wonder if they'll stop blaming drivers for causing their own deaths

With the entirely new technical package debuting next year, are the teams still going to do that annual test session after the Abu Dhabi this coming week?

Yeah, sucks. The champion should get a guaranteed seat in F1 imo. Switch him with the lowest placed F1 driver if no team picks him up, so Mazepin back to F2 and Piastri in the Haas next year.

Peter Sauber could operate a hostile takeover and do what he did 20 years ago. Sack the money in favour of talent. That case Zhou is gone

Would help it there were 13 teams. They just don't realize they are shooting themselves in the foot by artificially limiting the grid to 20 cars.

What’s to be gained from trying guys out in equipment that has little relevance for the upcoming season? Or am I overestimating the significance of the changes?

If IRL paid for cars to make it to 33 for the 500 and now gives a scholarship to the Indy Lights champion, I think F1 could easily fund a ride for the F2 champion.

There's need to be customer cars, or a chassis manufacturer appointed by F1 to produce an affordable F1 car that can be bought, with an spec engine. Like what it used to happen in CART. We had Penske (current F1 teams) designing, building and developing their own car, and the other teams (new F1 teams), that could buy a chassis from Reynard, Lola, Swift or whatever, get an engine deal and go racing.

I remember late 2008, some teams run dummy cars, trying to get some info for the new 2009 rules, in the current chassis.

Would they be able to try something similar?

dunno why Liberty wouldn't fund a new team for upcoming drivers, they could place the sponsors that F1 has anyway and employ many people that lost their jobs from cost cap

Good idea, and the chassis can just be a car from last year from one of the other teams.

but again, is a good idea. And that's exactly why they don't even consider that because you know, the pinnacle of motorsports
