Ah, those brand values getting a good airing once again.

The amusing part is that after Lewis stuck his head above the parapet last season he is now being appealed to by several groups to boycott the race in Saudi Arabia. So he's screwed either way.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

well, I guess he'll win the championship anyway, and could pay a fine if he doesn't show up plus making a disclaimer making him looking good while the whole F1 is put as a fool from him

Red Bull have set the conspiracy-minded off by running both the RB16B and RB15 on their filming day, and then only releasing pictures of the RB15.

Makes you wonder if they found a loophole in the regulations somewhere.

If it comes to it, Lewis and anyone else involved with the sport will release similar weasel word statements explaining how it's better for them to be there to draw attention to human rights injustices, or educate the locals, or some other bullshit. Everyone knows the real motivator is money and contractual obligations.

Thats what pisses me off the most. On one hand they're like "oh end racism this, end racism that....equal rights blablabla" but when it comes to stuff like this you never hear them.

If Lewis, Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari and a few other drivers showed their balls and refused to go there, the race would be canceled faster than a conservative comparing them being silenced for racist shit to the holocaust.

Even with all the talk of corporations on how aware they are of social justice affairs, I cannot imagine a team withdrawing from a race now as Renault and Ligier did in 1985 in South Africa. We just love to just talk.

Every single one involved is responsible for that to some extend. Including us.

A win for Mercedes there, is still a win.
A win for Hamilton there, is still a win.

People will still buy a Mercedes, people will still buy products of their sponsors. People will still watch the race on tv. People will still talk about it.

The sad thing is, the big teams use their powers to benefit themselves. Red Bull pulled off the engine freeze as it benefits them. Ferrari and Mercedes have used their powers to bent rules in their direction as well.

If only they had the guts to use their powers to boycot the race. If those 3 refuse to race there is nothing the FIA can do. Sure they can treaten to hand out huge fines but all they have to do is point at the clause that allows them to exit F1 scott-free.

Problem is they've already backed themselves into a corner by not boycotting the likes of China and Bahrain.

plus they're selfish to the ultimate level

if someone question Toto he'll say "we'll boycott if the other boycott too" but since teams like Red Bull and Ferrari have drivers that don't give a fuck they'll lose the advantage and the opportunity to look good

I see this https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/alon ... h/5498135/

And I see his Twitter posts where he doesn't smile and I think he's probably waiting for some replacement teeth?

Or has jaw wired in some way.

While today it's obvious that you should boycott China and Bahrain, it wasn't the case back in the early 00s.

But with that said, I'm not going to watch anything related to Saudi Arabian GP. I hope sir Lewis has the guts to skip it too.

And so it happens that a missile strike interupts the Saudi formula e ceremonies.

Do we really need this for F1?

surely russia and turkey are far worse than saudi arabia. i'm not defending the corrupt saudi government, but at least the saudis are moving the right direction with social reform.

funny thing is that russian athletes are banned to take part in sporting competitions, so that's why Mazepin will not be able to race under the motherland flag

if Putin really wanted Navalny dead, then he would be dead now for months.

if you think saudi arabia is better, then i assume you forgot about khashoggi.

Don't mind the new Merc, I like the Ineos red on the inside of the wings.

Finally Mercedes made a good looking car. Perhaps because the black paint is hiding the ugly parts

plus extra style points for the black wheels
