If I understood correctly, they were fireworks. Sounds rather silly to arrest a man over a fireworks prank. Alesi is so rich he could burn his brother-in-law's office, and rebuild afterwards it, just for the lolz.

If you are not aware of it, enter the office and fireworks start blasting around and maybe against your head, you´d be pissed too. One bad hit and you are burned for life, or dead. So yeah, you can call this a quite life threatening offence.

Hamilton is kinda following Senna's pattern who even did an IndyCar test to leverage McLaren into signing a competitive engine deal after the Honda withdrawal. I recall the first part of 1993 season was a ton of speculation how long Senna keeps going and will he step away at some point in the season. He had a race-by-race contract, something that would not fly in the modern F1 anymore (save for the Red Bull minnows).

I'd like to see Hamilton testing an IndyCar.

I mean, all he's done is unfollow F1 on instagram, which for all we know could mean "I want to relax and not have 1001 F1 posts flooding my feed, I'll follow them again in March when we go testing..."

Even the official F1 account has been pretty spicy posting Red Bull's winding up of Mercedes' final laps so you can forgive him for not wanting to see those posts while it still feels raw

Whatever you think about Abu Dhabi, from Lewis' point of view he had that race and title won. And that takes a while to get over
Senna went and smashed up his flat in Monaco after he threw away a win
Hakkinen went and cried in a bush when he threw away a certain win
Schumacher tried to beat up David Coulthard when DC took a win from him in dangerous circumstances
Piquet DID beat up Salazar when he was trying to make the first ever refueling pitstop work and was taken out of the race
Racing drivers take things HARD when they are robbed of wins, I've seen it first hand myself at the race track too

Just let the guy get over it in private, he hasn't actually made ONE public statement or done ANYTHING to deserve this ire he is getting, (unlike his boss) so allow him to vent in peace.

He also skipped the FIA gala which is a pretty bold statement.

In the mean time Latifi is recieving hate, treaths etc
https://mobile.twitter.com/nicholaslatifi
https://www.nicholaslatifi.com/a-messag ... abu-dhabi/

It would be nice if Hamilton, Toto and Mercedes to come out in support of Latifi, Highlight cyber bullying, hate speech and the abuse that Latifi has had to endure. It’s the right thing to do. Will they tho? Does it not fit the agenda?

Its Something what Dale Jr & Nascar at least did, standing with Sterlin Marlin when he received those threats after Seniors Fatal Daytona 500 crash. (Not the same, but situation with death threats was similar)

When Glock did mess up the WDC of Massa, there was no social media. Or least not much of it. Still, he can expect to get into a lot of trouble when on vacation in Brazil. Till this day even.
This is not what F1 or any kind of sports needs.

Yeah, let's support anthrax letters to referees when they make a controversial call in a championship game while we're at it.

Finally, definitive proof Merc PR is monitoring TBK.

I think I might know, but my opinion is probably only based on that member's positions on various discussion topics over a few years on this forum.

I will remain as vague and cryptic as they are, and adjust as we go :D

ok, tell them to build a car a bit more slow so we can see Toto going nuts at least once per race

hate to say it but I think it would have been exactly the same, if not worse, by all those Dutchies who suddenly discovered F1 somewhere in 2016 if the roles where reversed..... :yuk:

Both Jean and Giuliano have been charged over the firework and will go on trial in 2023.

All this prank because the brother in law is divorcing with Alesi's sister? :slaphead:
