There's just no justification for this GP to be in the F1 calendar, and even less to be the final round.

It's 2020, so we never know. But Abu Dhabi and its fun shield can ensure a procession surely.

Well we might get to see Russell in the merc, Fittipaldi in the Hass and Aitkin in the Williams again. That would make it a bit interesting.

Let us not assume the old boring/great race rules apply to this crazy 2020 season

Was just thinking, it's a shame it's in an Arab country otherwise Liberty could sell this as the "Christmas GP" being as it's the closest race to the holiday season since the 60s New Zealand GPs on New Year's day, I believe

Imagine all the graphics making jingle bell noises and Sky putting CGI snow over the race.
Plus the podium trophies could be handed out by Santa.

Oh well, maybe next y.......oh yeah, never this late again lol

Every time I see that track map, I think to myself "what a stupid fucking track." Like, every single time. It's impossible for me to not look at it and think that. So, yeah. What a stupid fucking track.

- All commentators participating in the grid walk have to wear Santa or elf outfits.
- The F1 theme is replaced with "Last Christmas" by Wham, or that Paul McCartney song with the ear-grating synthesizer I fucking loathe.
- Since it's the final race of the year, post-race penalties will be given in the form of bags of coal in lieu of a grid penalty.

How's that?

And replace tarmac run off areas with snow traps instead of gravel traps.
Pit wall crew to wear knitted team shirts (great merch for Christmas 2021!)
Shape the braking zone Styrofoam signs like reindeers and snowmans.
Also play the Mariah Carrey's Christmas song on the podium during the champagne, nay, egg nog, nay, hot chocolate ceremonies.
Mandate all the commentator teams to say something cheesy and pretentious about good spirits and peace on the humankind during these troubling times and wish all the best and greatness for 2021.

I thought it was alright when I first saw it on paper. It is the off camber corners and the chicane before the hairpin that kills it.

Nominated pit crew member must have a Very Shiny Nose.
Official F1 song has sleighbells added just so we know it's a Christmas thing.
Safety car uses tree lights instead of the regular ones.
All flags should be trimmed with tinsel.
Stewards office has mistletoe above the door, so any disputes are resolved with a festive kiss.

They should have a Sakhir GP style race on a short circuit, use the link between turn 8 and 23. The only kinda interesting part of the track is turns 2-3-4.

The whole second half of the lap is just a waste.

Most of the action I remember is from the 10 - 14 sequence, which is annoying because this is otherwise a good idea!

since there's no way to keep snow on the runoff perhaps they should put huge amounts of shaving cream to play snow and see drivers shaving the runoff areas with their front wings

Before the first race I loved the track map, because I imagined a street circuit like Detroit or Long Beach. Saying that I was disappointed was an understatement.

This video says it all:
