The layout looks similar to Estoril

The final section looks very similar to Catalunya as well (but without the awful chicane, thankfully).

I've not watched much racing at this track, so looking forward to another new venue.

this is perhaps one of the best new tracks to play on sim racing, it takes some time before you can get a grip at all sectors

dunno about how the racing will be

The layout looks like Estoril but it's nothing like it, loads of hills and crests with blind corner entries.

Current forecast is for a dry Friday and Saturday, 80% chance of showers on Sunday.

you cant compare both tracks as portimao has plenty of elevation changes

Somehow I think this could be a fun race.

Will probably be crap with Mercedes 30 secs ahead.

The fast first corner is being used, not the hairpin

It's actually gone up to 95% chance of rain throughout the day with chances at race time being around 65%. May also rain Friday afternoon now.

so it'll be a Lewis Hamilton walkover to be the record win. At least will be on a great track at great fashion

Stroll's confirmed he tested positive for covid after the Nurburgring (lol great job with picking that up, guys) but has now recovered and will race this weekend

what the hell? He was still in the paddock on Saturday, wasn't he? That's some serious shit, putting the whole circus at jeopardy.

Well, he was (falsely) tested negative. Luckily he wasn't totally asymptomatic, otherwise he wouldn't have withdrawn in the first place.

Quite literally, as the only symptom he seemed to have had was diarrhea, which is usually not one of COVIDs symptoms. Pretty sure no doctor would take a COVID-test of you if the only indication of any kind of illnes is having the shits.

Actually it's on the WHO and CDC lists of symptoms. Along with his fever and fatigue.

RP would have known this and they didn't report it as a potential Covid-19 case.

I can't remember other time I was so excited to watch a race because of the track. I don't care if Hamilton will lap the whole field. It's a great track!

Is it the team or the driver that should get a penalty here then?
