Man was it really that long ago we were last here?

Only feels like 2 weeks ago

That Mariussia incident was also stupid as it was on fire on the run in to the hairpin but they didn't put the SC out until it started rolling back down the hill.

Then the cameraman incident in pit lane, man I never want to see that again. Hold your breath stuff for the rest of that race until they confirmed it wasn't as bad as it first looked.

But yeah erm, for this weekend? Our only hope is the impossible rain. :slaphead:

Great to see them return to Nürburgring. As nice track as Hockenheim is, I was always disappointed they couldn't continue the rotation plan. In a current era of predictability, F1 calendar needs variety, and luckily this year has provided it. And even if they don't return the tracks seen this year, at least we'll now have HD onboard footage forever. That's nice.

My weather forecast says rain for each day. Yeah right. I've come to accept that there can only be 1 wet race every 3 years. So not expecting a wet race till 2022.

I watched that 2013 race a couple of weeks ago. Was a good race - the high-deg tyres made it fun

Hopefully we get a good show and get the Nurburgring back on the calendar after this in rotation with Hockenheim. F1 really ought to have a race in Germany every year, even if it's called the Eifelrennen

As expected, it looks like Sunday should be dry.

Cold though at 9°C

Without that safety car, Grosjean would be a Grand Prix winner.

That was also the first race with the Red Bull Pirelli tyres after the Silverstone kerb issues

Kerb issues? It was rather the teams mounting tyres backwards for extra performance, against all manufacturer's recommendation.

I'm still mad about the whole thing.

Yeah, backwards after qualifying to get more groove on the inside and using lower pressure levels than recommended. And some teams even using different gas compounds inside the tires, if I remember correctly. And then going for longer than what were recommended.

Yesterday looked like Qualifying could get some rain at least, now no chance of rain during the entire weekend.

Rain on Friday though.

There is still a chance on all three days.

German weather model does predict a low pressure area over northern Germany which could push in some rain on Sunday.

So yeah, there's a chance.

I think Turkey will have the best chance of being wet this year. That is, 2 in a million chance.

It'll be raining at Tiergarten and Hatzenbach but not on the GP track.

So yeah latest German model run is only expecting rain after the race.

Perhaps we can pray for light showers like 1999 (Top 5 races in my book)
