We debated here in the forum how F1 current specifications (tyres, ride height, runoff areas) make it hard to race on heavy rain. This session makes it very clear. Track doesn't look that soaked and drivers are struggling for grip.

According to James Allison Mercedes buffed up the front wish bones to cope with the curbs in Austria and thus adding quite a bit of weight.

That's off now so they'll be even quicker.

perhaps they did that on purpose so they cannot turn a wet race into a liability. ah those fun hating bureaucrats

Problem was they weren't talking less, so you had Crofty shouting over trackside sounds and FOM feed sounds all at the same time. Worked about as well as you'd imagine
