Usually a boring race, especially in recent years, but always something to look forward to. And you just don't open the season in Bahrain, it has to be Melbourne. |

Boring or not, Melbourne always warms my heart. I love the scenery, the track, the new season feel. I hope we don't get a last minute cancellation or something. |

Isn't all the equipment already out there? I'm sure my dad said he followed the fleet of 747's taking them on flightradar24 th other day. I don't think the race will be cancelled, but I gave a strong suspicion it might end up being a non-points scoring race, especially if three teams end up short on staff and can't race for whatever reason (it's fine having the cars there, but if there's nobody available to prepare them..... no chance someone like Ferrari would hire locals, too much of a risk that their latest cheat leaks out). |

However, instead of self-isolating, as is the direction from health authorities for recent travellers presenting symptoms, he went out. The man visited South Melbourne Market on Friday morning and attended a function at the Albert Park Hotel later that evening. |

Staff should be out there already. Those they need at HQ are probably stuck there any way. It's going on from Australia and anything they need from HQ that will be the problem. Then sending the cars back in between GP's but they'll get sent straight on to Bahrain from Australia, it's the break between Bahrain and Vietnam, or Netherlands if Vietnam is cancelled, is when they'd return the equipment to HQ. |

I've read in a few places that a runny nose isn't a typical symptom of coronavirus. |

I didn't think so either, but I think the bigger point is that this person had it, went around Melbourne whilst showing some symptoms (and so may have been spreading it), and so it may have implications for whether or not fans are allowed in. |

It's not, but never let the media miss the opportunity to stir shit up. This morning on BBC breakfast one of the presenters said they had a runny nose which was a symptom, they were even corrected by the doctor sitting opposite them, and then later the same doctor said a runny nose is not a symptom of covid19 yet the stupid presenter still repeated it later that a runny nose was a symptom and then proceeded again, to belittle the toilet roll panic buyers. Sore throats are, so is coughing, along with a temperate above 37.5, but these have to be together, not individually, my son has a cough because he very nearly perferated his eardrum recently and like a gagging reflex, coughing is a reflex to putting something in or having a damaged ear. I have a sore throat, but only cos I sucked in a load of helium yesterday and run around singing "I know a song that'll get on your nerves" over and over to put a smile on my wife's face after the she had nothing but shit thrown at her by so called friends and family over the last week. But neither of us are running to the nearest hospital of doctors screaming "I've got COVID-19" like many people have becuase they've got a runny nose of a cough, that's why the test to positive ratio is so high here, every man and his dog is calling 111 in a panic whenever they sneeze. I know it's protentially bad, but for fucks sake I wish people would get a grip, it's basic hygiene and common sense, not brain surgery. Now back to F1. I wonna know if Merc will run the pushe-me pull-me steering lol. |

Mercedes have also been slapped with a new technical directive regarding their rear brakes. https://the-race.com/formula-1/red-bull ... ct-change/ |

The virus thing is pretty horrible because of the media, it covers almost 80% of the news and papers, and it destroyed the sports here in Italy and everything stands still( im croatian but let's say we grew up and have in our culture watiching F1 and SerieA) You get like 3rd of the pay to not to go and self quarantine, but now everyone with a sneeze is afraid that they have corona and people around them too. So many good things are destroyed without people, sports make no sense, we live from tourism, and it will be horrible also to my job because i will lose guests and bookings because of the panic and media. I just hope I have my race to watch, even it Mercedes wins it im glad its back. |

Apparently McLaren and Haas team members have been tested positive on the coronavirus and have been pulled of the circuit to go back to the hotel. Kinda too late, should be testing everybody they've been in contact with for the last 14 days, pretty sure that like most illnesses once you start showing symptoms, you're at the least contagious point in the illness but if we're going to self isolate everybody who sneezes now, I guess I should have spent the last four months in isolation too since it feels like I've had a light cold since November. |
