For me, it's all 10 teams or nothing. Since McLaren withdrew, and more teams will follow, I'd say no (points scoring) race. Do a testrace, test new formats like reverse grid or anything.

Australian health chiefs have made clear that any team which has an infected staff member will likely be put in quarantine, and that could be enough for the race to be called off.

FIA said that if any teams would have a lack of staff and couldn't run then races would be cancelled.

Since McLaren pulled out on their own, they don't really count anymore. If all other teams have enough staff, the race will go ahead IMO.

The four Haas team members have tested negative.

That's why the race will happen

Reckon you can add Renault to that list. Their participation next year is already a bit iffy.

Bahrain to be the opening and only race of the season then?

I'm more bummed out at the prospect of Moto GP not going ahead to be honest (US travel ban from Europe :x :( ). Was really looking forward to this season.

MotoGP in the USA was already delayed before this travel ban from Europe was announced.

This is all down to money. Melbourne will take a huge financial hit if the race is cancelled so I presume they want some government guarantees to cover for it.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/feature/98 ... as-a-break I can't read the article, but it could well be the reality now. Man, what will I do with all that free time?

The team principals have agreed to continue the weekend with 9 teams, pending the approval of the authorities.

I believe the race will go on, but I doubt if they'll allow crowd and other people that aren't media or organization

Liberty is showing the same traits as Bernie, let's see if they don't give a fuck like Bernie did during the 40+ years he was running the sport

I'm pretty sure we'll hear later about the race being cancelled, the only reason we haven't is that Australia is still sleeping and no-one is yet awake to pull the plug

RIP 2020 Australian GP. Hope those in the Carrera Cup enjoyed being the only winners of the 2020 GP Weekend!

Yeah, I think it all comes down to no one wants the liability themselves for shutting it down and are waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Benson (I know) says that it is toast.

Maybe he talked to different people. The earlier report was from Craig Slater who talked to a team principal after their meeting.

If it's called off, this will be an Oz/Victoria government decision, definitely not FIA's!

On the front page of the BBC website - if he is wrong, he's going to look very silly. More so than usual.
