Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

There are also reports that Kimi and Vettel have fucked off back home, which will make things interesting if all the other reports are true as well.

Correct decision. Sports and F1 won't be happening anytime soon.

They just said on the BBC Radio 5 F1 show that they have been told by multiple sources that the race is off but that there are certain legal obligations that are still been sorted out.

They also confirmed that Vettel & Kimi have both flown home.

Hundreds of fans have arrived at the gate. It would be nice if they had been given some information. How can you mess an event up this badly?

Apparently since the Thursday car homologation has gone through the organizers have to pay the 30 million fee no matter if the race goes ahead or not. Guess it's down to this very issue?

no-one wants to make the final decision and pay the fines.

Also, I see a lot of people claiming this wouldnt happen if Bernie was still in charge. Fuck off! Bernie couldnt deal with Indy 2005 either why would this be any different? :innocent:

Listening to the BBC Radio 5 show it sounds like F1 doesn't want the race to go ahead but the event organizers are insisting it does.

The local organizers are able to act as if things are going ahead as normal because officially as it stands the race is still on but for legal reasons F1 can't confirm the events cancellation due to the ongoing legal discussions with the local organizers meaning the race can't actually be officially called off until an agreement is reached.

Seems a possible scenario is the local organizers pushing ahead as normal but with F1 teams simply not going out although it also seems like there are some teams who would be fine going out if FP1/2 is run.

Six of the teams have just arrived at the paddock. No Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault or McLaren

This is classic F1. Every other sport, and every other racing series, has cancelled major events seemingly without issue. But when F1 tries to do the same thing it's fucking clown college

If Bernie was still in charge Mclaren would be fined already, and they wouldn't be filmed by FOM until 2022 at the earliest

Lewis would also be fined for his comments, and the race would go on even if it killed people with a "F1 has killed people before, if you don't like the risks, stay home" mentality.

Dude was from a different era and only cared about the money. To hell with people
