I'm torn apart by Mercedes' dominance. On the one hand its very impressive they kept it going for so long. It is unheard of.
On the other hand, I massively hope the recent investigations into the ERS shows Mercedes has been cheating all along and get slapped back into the rear and we actually get close championships again. Or at least a different team winning it.

I just want some good hard racing and see someone else win. For that matter, I want to see a wide variety of winners. F1 needs way more unpredictability, like MotoGP. Just look at the 2020 season there so far. Fucking amazing one...

And when Marquez comes back it'll be... :8:

Mercedes have done a phennomoninal job for so long now. I mean it's not like we have 4 teams behind them on an equal footing. It's Merc----a step behind Red Bull-----daylight----Racing Point-Ferarri-McLaren----step behind, Renault.

If you took Merc out of it then it would be a bit more spiced up, but we would be saying the same thing about Red Bull as Merc. Quite simply when you have an outfit like Mercedes that nails every aspect of the design of the car it is no wonder they are in the position they are.

As much as I hate the boring dominance....this isn't Indycar with a one make chassis. It really is upto the other teams to step up to the plate. It always has been in F1 and it always should be.

Yeah but even F1 isn't above needing to provide a show and some level of competition. What worked for the past 50 years in terms of entertainment levels of a sport doesn't fly anymore. People don't sit in front of a TV for 2 hours anymore happy to watch a live event they already know the results of. It's Mercedes' and every other team's responsibility to gain the biggest advantage they can within the rules, and it's FIA's responsibility to look after the entertainment value. As already said here, FIA has utterly failed in their responsibility while Mercedes has thoroughly succeeded.

I'm never fond of investment companies buying an F1 team. It will be sold off within the next few years again.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Apparently the sale is to a fund called "BCE Limited". Dorilton apparently acts on behalf of "a European family"

Surely not...

No, I'm referring to "BCE"

There aren't many rich people who can afford to drop £150m on an F1 team. There aren't many people who are that wealthy who would want to

BCE, though...

They were bought by BCE Limited. Dorilton manage the fund

It's basically like how Sauber were "bought by" Longbow Finance, which turned out to be a company representing some Swedish billionaires including a member of the Rausing family and the Perssons from H&M. No one knows who BCE is/are but it's clearly an extremely wealthy individual/family. Dorilton are just the people managing their wealth

Given that they don't appear to have invested in anything like this before, my guess is they are either:

a) naive and massively underestimating how much they need to put in
b) asset-stripping (but what assets? The Advanced Engineering arm got sold off so all that's left is a loss-making F1 team and a factory)
c) looking to sell it on at a profit to a blue chip company or manufacturer
d) acting on behalf of that well-known vertically-challenged gentleman, or someone else who is/has been involved in F1 (with the idea still being one of the other three options)

Peter Windsor has said James Matthews (ex-racing driver, hedgefund millionaire, married to Pippa Middleton) is involved

Calendar has been completed. Turkey returns in November, followed by a double header in Bahrain (no mention of layouts) and finishes in Abu Dhabi.
