The rest of the post, you act as if Lewis just chills on an island for 50% of the year, shows up at Mercedes in February and is immediately handed the fastest car
When in fact a part of that dominance is due to Lewis' performance and if they had 2 Bottas', they'd probably have lost a couple of titles to Ferrari by now
It's not just driving, it's analysing the data, explaining that data to the engineers, testing lap after testing lap, motivating the guys back at the factory, all the P.R. stuff, all the contract negotiating stuff (which unlike most he surprisingly seems to do himself) and the 10,000 other things an F1 champion has to do outside of a grand prix weekend just to win

people said a lot of this about Senna too, that he spent the winter testing riding jetskis and boats on his beach house while Jonathan Palmer and Allan McNish did all the work on those McLarens and he did what he needed to do on the race weekend

I'm pretty sure that if testing was available 24/7 like 20 years ago Hamilton would be doing like Schumacher, literally sleeping on the track and staying there to gather more imput even if he didn't actually drive on the day

Lewis even invented that he was ill just to not go into the racetrack when they were testing wet tyres. He also despise the simulator. I doubt he would be like Schumacher in that regard.

He's fast, but just like Schumacher, they got very lucky to have the fastest car and no other big names on fast cars as well.

Weird that people thought his genuine illness was made up. Also that time in Monaco where he legit had something in his eye and people were just saying he was making excuses for finishing 2nd (not being on pole at Monaco was enough of an excuse, the race was over for the lead, ie pit stops had happened before he got that grit or whatever it was in the eye)

Thank god Netflix were around for Hockenhiem before people accused him of faking that too.
TBH I'm amazed he even started that race, let alone dominated it for so long....

He said he had a stomach bug, only day of winter testing he had, and only in the morning. When the normal testing resolved in the afternoon, he had recovered. And he said in the interview that those tests were useless.

For the rest of offtrack activities I don't care, F1 is takes so much time out of your life with all the travel time and sponsorship deal. I wouldn't do much better. And for how many titles he has won, he's pretty humble imo. Schumi was way more entitled. Specially on track.

I hope we will quickly get back to discussing on-track incidents, and each giving our own distorted fanboy view of the responsibilities.

my fanboy view see Mercedes working on the effort to fight covid-19 was a way to keep their factory working at full steam, maybe even using the technology to do something more mischievous that FIA will deem legal and make them rape the field. again

And what about the time he crashed his Pagani on the streets of Monaco after club night?

Or the time he stood on a roof of McLaren?

Yeah, this is going to be the worst off season.

Jean Alesi. World champion material, never in the right car.

@Scotty: I doubt that Senna would join Williams if they already had a world champion in the team.

The 1995 season was interesting actually. The Williams was the faster car throughout the year, however the Benetton strategy was the killer, in addition to unreliability and impetuous moves.

So at 89 years old, Bernie Ecclestone is going to become a father again

Same here.

I think it has good balance of all the colors used and nothing sticks out.

He has a daughter of 65. His own daughter is old enough to be grandmother of his son.
