And Kimi's comeback is longer than the first leg in F1.

Finnish F1 broadcast team thinks Alfa Romeo has a plan to Make car better for next season and 2022 project must be promising to keep Kimi still commited to work for the team.

Ferrari are now publicly a hard 'no' on any engine freeze.

The question now is whether Didi was bluffing on plan B being withdrawal.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

As an aside, England's following Wales, France and Germany back into full lockdown as cases are shooting up. Wonder if this will have an impact on the completion of the season

I remember seeing earlier the 'leaks' said all outbound goings from England being banned. Not sure if that came true but unless F1 gets an exemption then the teams based here are stuck.

Outbound travel is allowed for work so F1 should be ok.

I know you are just kidding, but for many staying away from family and home during these demanding times and doing mentally demanding and stressing work in a foreign country could actually be a positive change from their everyday routines.

Mongolian government writes to Red Bull over Verstappen comments

I guess the "end racism" campaign will stay for quite a while now. But what will happen to Max now?

Hamilton said in a post-race interview that he's not even sure if he will be in F1 next year. A throwaway comment, but maybe 'motivation' for Mercedes before they start any negotiations?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he walked away to do other things. He's talked about how he enjoyed lockdown and obviously he has his environmental interests - it's probably a concern to him that he's spending his time travelling the world in polluting jets. Plus he's just set up a team in Extreme E. He has nothing left to achieve in F1, and I don't think he has that Michael-esque level of motivation to keep winning indefinitely with no opposition. And with Ross and Niki gone and Toto probably going soon, the guys who brought him to the team and have steered it to the top aren't there any more

But then this is Lewis, who says "my tyres are gone" and then sets a fastest lap. So now that he's said this, he'll probably sign a 5-year deal and we'll be sat here in 2025 talking about whether or not he'll be around to win a 13th title next year

I'll be pleased to see Hamilton stay in F1

as long Mercedes is out of F1, even Mercedes lorries shouldn't be allowed inside the track

I'd like to see Lewis in a car that's only 2nd or 3rd best. He's clearly one of the best drivers that we've seen in our lifetimes, and I think we could appreciate that talent more if he had to fight harder each race.

We already saw that. Button had the measure of him.

if F1 wasn't such a bitch to form and run a team, Hamilton could take the operation and act like a owner/driver like they do in America

He won the world championship twice in a car that wasn't the best. He's done enough to prove he's great

Currently 5 races into rewatching 2011 at the moment and...eh, certainly so far that's been not the case. Button finished a place or two behind Lewis in a couple of races but was comfortably behind in terms of performance. I know Button's best performances are after this (Canada, Hungary, Japan) but I get the feeling that this is one of those where the points table does lie a bit

That said, Button is significantly underrated in hindsight. I say this about Rosberg too - the more Lewis achieves in his career, the better it makes them look, and currently they both look really good. Even Kovalainen today looks like a better driver than one who had no option but to sign for Tony Fernandes F1

"Bono these tires are gone I don't think I can make it to the end man" They're probably negotiating a multi-year extension as we speak.

Where did he say "Lewis should do this to prove himself"? I took it as just "I wish this could happen", which I agree with. Lewis isn't MS, he can actually battle and pull off amazing passes without driving into someone or driving them off the road. We just hardly ever get to see it because he's been in such a dominant car for so long.

And motorsport to fieldsport comparisons will always be complete shit.
