I can't wait for Alonso to return next year and continue sticking the boot into Vettel

He's already started from the sidelines, he really really doesn't like him lol

If they're somewhat close on track, there could be fireworks there

if it wasn't for Grosjean the 2012 trophy would be in the right hands today, and not with someone who depended of blowing diffuser start on pole everytime to grab distance and stay away from DRS range while everybody struggled with tires

Thanks for putting this up, That is exactly what I start wondering every race after lap two. Most races would be a train-fight for the win.

I also thought Albon would be much worse off than that, but he isn't, he just reflects where a normal top driver would be after many eventful races, in a more competitive field that doesn't have 3 goddamn aliens at the front.

I pretty much watch the races pretending those 3 arent in it. And the directors seem to focus more and more on actually midfield fighting.

No. Albon should be way way more ahead of the rest of the pack. He has been terrible. And I don't subscribe to the whole "Oh Verstappen is just next level sub human" so Albon is doing a normal job. Don't sugar coat it. He looks so far out of his depth it isn't funny. The guy that they gave the boot for him looks a more sure thing than him.

perhaps FIA should do a second podium celebration for those who aren't driving the Mercedes and aren't called Max Verstappen

like when they did a trophy for NA powered cars aka the Jim Clark Trophy

8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

That puts Red Bull in a pickle.... like legit who will they go with? Bad blood with Renault, Ferrari... nope. and Mercedes won't want to supply them, unless Merc leave F1 as a works team and become purely an engine supplier

This came to my mind too. Can Red Bull buy Honda project?

If not, Alpha Tauri is probably done and Red Bull might get a deal from Renault or Ferrari...but knowing how much Red Bull wants to win...do they want customer contract to be midfield?

And what is Renault going to do?

Do we end up with customer Mercedes teams vs. Ferrari like it was in 70s with Cosworth era?

Is F1 dead?

FIA should have reacted on Mercedes domination earlier.

Ok, so Red Bull and Alpha Tauri both remain.

Haha not surprising. Good excuse for Red Bull to finally quit F1.

I will believe that Red Bull are staying only when we reach the start of April and they have not invoked the termination clause in Concorde. It's easy to say things now when they have 6 months to make an actual decision.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

They'll probably stick around for 2021 but exit for 2022 unless they find a solution that suits them. And Renault isnt the solution they are looking for.

Merc wont give them engines even if they gave them Max and keep paying his salary plus a mountain of money.

This is terrible news for F1 and its fans because if they do pull out I cannot see 2 buyers. We will lose at least RB 1 team by 2022.

Yes, the termination clause applies to the following season - so if it were invoked next March it wouldn't apply to that season, but the one after.

There are no good options. Mercedes will not give them engines. The Ferrari engine is a dog and will not catch up before the end of this set of regulations. The Renault engine is much better than it used to be, but that well is poisoned.

Technically, Renault would be the first in the queue for a shotgun wedding, but that is also contingent on the team wanting to be supplied by the manufacturer.

Dont forget that Max has a clause that requires RBR to be a factory team. None of the other 3 will give RBR that status.
If he triggers that clause they lose their star driver. This might also trigger Newey to entertain the offer from Stroll or another team or just go fishing.

RBR - Max - Newey - proper engine = bye bye RBR

The only thing I can see is Red Bull luring another manufacturer into F1, but who's going to want to join with the ridiculous engine regs we have at the moment? Could this be what triggers the FIA to finally dump this engine formula in a bid to attract more? Or does Red Bull go into engine development themselves?

a new manufacturer that has to produce an engine in little over 14 months? Not gonna happen.
