Looked like Albon chopped down IMO. Hamilton made the move early enough that it wasn’t a divebomb. Disappointing, but not sure Hamilton did anything wrong there.
Agreed. Poor racecraft by Albon.

So this could be McLaren first podium since 2014?

Fuck Lewis for his antics under sc but I think it’s either a race incident or even more on albon for shutting the door like that

With that bullshit SC for Bottas FIA caused

a) total fucking off-season mayhem at Ferrari
b) Gasly's PB finish
c) Albon's heartbreak
d) Hamilton looking like a dick

Well done, boys. That's headline news on ESPN!

Just unbelievable, Hamilton never has real damage when he has contact.

Driver of the day: Sainz
Villan of the day: Vettel
Troll of the day: Whoever decided the first SC was needed when it wasn't :p

All people will go on about from now until kingdom come: Lewis Vs Albon cos it was pretty much 50/50 but people will want to blame someone

Clumsy by both Ham and Albon, could wait until straight. Poor Albon, drove a great race. Hamilton said it's his fault.

What a mess by the Ferrari drivers. I think Leclerc surprised Vettel with that overly late move into turn 1. If that had been anyone other than Vettel, it would've been an accident for sure. Leclerc was lucky it was his teammate as he gave him the room. And then that clumsy incident. They could've worked together to both overtake Albon and likely even Hamilton and secure a 2-3 for Ferrari instead squabbling with each other results in a double DNF...typical Ferrari.

Albon crash was very good for Red Bull, as it took all effort by Hamilton

Hamilton takes the blame for Albon's crash. Well, he might as well do it since WDC is safe.

That was also a dick move but Lewis constantly does it and the Stewards refuse to take action any time someone does it.

IMHO instant DQF and 1 race ban

Need to see the replay but never looked like Hamilton was ever more than halfway alongside Albon. Albon needed to turn in at some point, can't exactly expect him to bend over and lift his skirt up for Hamilton considering he was still substantially ahead. Overly optimistic and misjudged move by Hamilton. He might've had a better chance at Juncao if he had stayed close.

Max restart was the closest we had from Nascar restart zones. I totally approve it

A 10 second penalty would put Hamilton behind Albon in 15th.

I'm still puzzled as to how such a seemingly slight wheel-to-wheel contact resulted in catastrophic damage for both cars. It's like the Ferrari's were assembled in a Walmart.

At that speed the cars create an awfully high amount of downforce and pressure on the wheels and tires. I agree it was surprising at first sight, but given the physics involved I can sort of understand why it worked out the way it did.

The onboard shows more of a bump between the tyres
