Vettel paid tribute to Bernd Schneider, while Ferrari paid tribute to Zakspeed.

if Ferrari wanted to pay tribute to Zakowski they shouldn't even take part in qualifying as they failed to pre-qualify

Hamilton is ill and Mercedes prepared Ocon to replace him in this race. It would be a very interesting situation.

And I thought it was Hamilton who recently drove an early 90’s Mercedes 190E DTM car

Yes, if the stewards are ok with it. I'm not sure if a driver who hasn't done much driving would necessarily be allowed to start from pole though.

FIA F1 Sporting Regulations wrote:
If one of the team’s nominated drivers is unable to drive at some stage after the end of initial scrutineering (18 hours before the scheduled start of P1), and the stewards consent to a change of driver, the replacement driver must use the engine, gearbox and tyres which were allocated to the original driver (see Articles 23.3, 23.5 and 24.4).

He'd have to start from the back or the pits since someone else qualified the car.

in that case common sense must put the driver to final spot on the grid or pitlane start, like they do in IndyCar

Just started raining during the Porsche race, so plenty of time to dry up before F1
