Autodromo Nazionale Monza f1.com wrote: Monza is regarded by many as the embodiment of Formula One racing. Not only is it a fantastic example of a track that combines speed with skill, it also has a heart and soul all of its own. It has seen some of the finest races of all time, but also some of the sport's worst accidents. The names of great drivers and the sounds of engines from years gone by linger in the grand old trees surrounding the track in the royal park. Work began on the circuit in 1922 and was completed in under six months. After Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the USA, it was the third permanent race track in existence. With a banked oval incorporated into the design of the road racing circuit, the total track length stood at a whopping 10 kilometres. Formula One racing visited the circuit as part of the inaugural season in 1950, and it has remained a permanent fixture on the calendar ever since. Over that time, Monza has borne witness to an incredible list of historic moments, famous victories and horrifying crashes. All combine to make it one of the most magical places on the Formula One calendar. For many there is nowhere that encapsulates the sport better than this circuit. The Italians call it 'La Pista Magica', the magic track, a description few would disagree with. Last year's race Lance Stroll started 2nd after several grid penalties and Lewis Hamilton won to reach championship lead to win the championship later 2018 Season Standings Timetables all times are local (GMT+2) Friday 31st August GP3 Series Practice Session 09:30 - 10:15 Formula 1 Practice 1 11:00 - 12:30 FIA Formula 2 Practice Session 12:55 - 13:40 Formula 1 Practice 2 15:00 - 16:30 FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Session 16:55 - 17:25 GP3 Series Qualifying Session 17:50 - 18:20 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Practice Session 18:45 - 19:30 Saturday 1st September GP3 Series First Race (22 Laps or 40 Mins) 10:30 - 11:15 Formula 1 Practice 3 12:00 - 13:00 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Qualifying Session 13:25 - 13:55 Formula 1 Qualifying 15:00 - 16:00 FIA Formula 2 First Race (30 Laps or 60 Mins) 16:45 - 17:50 Sunday 2nd September GP3 Series Second Race (17 Laps or 30 Mins) 09:40 - 10:15 FIA Formula 2 Second Race (21 Laps or 45 Mins) 10:55 - 11:45 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Race (14 Laps or 30 Mins) 12:10 - 12:45 Formula 1 Grand Prix (53 Laps or 120 Mins) 15:10 - 17:10 the fastest race of the season |

10 years since some bloke in a Toro Rosso got pole and won in the rain. Also 10 years since we've had a decent race in Monza. It should stay because of the history, but it's a terrible F1 track. |

And important questions to ask: who will drive where? Stroll to Force India seems certain. So will we see Kubica in the Williams? Vandoorne will probably stay with McLaren until the end, so Ocon might be without a drive for the rest of the season. |

Hard to believe it's been 10 years already. Monza 2008 was my first grand prix in person and luckily I had a front row seat in the main grandstand to snap these. The icing on the cake was getting Seb to autograph the print at Monza last year which I had framed up on my wall. |

So, whenever Stroll goes, Kubica replaces him straight away. Ocon's the one in danger of skipping races. |

Right, I'm off to the bookies. |

Right, I'm off to the bookies. Do it, but put an extra punt on Hamilton finishing second to a resurgent Robert Kubica, who announces on the podium that he is off to Ferrari next year. |

Williams can go to podium, if both the cars have a slow start, then 12 cars get tangled in the chicane, they get through and manage to get a fast tire pit stop for hardest compound during SC running the whole distance |

At least starting the DRS zone halfway down the straight will hopefully prevent cars from being twenty car lengths in front by the first corner. |

It would be funny if they could do the opposite and close it half-way down the straight. You get the tow, then as soon as you're alongside you come to a stop and remain side-by-side with no extra momentum as the braking zone arrives. No wait, silly me, I'm just reinventing normal racing where cars can follow each other closely and get a normal tow without any DRS. |

Can't do that @ Coldtyre, that's dangerous, even though HALO saved fifty puppies last week. |
