If you're scoring this less than a 6 then you need to re-evaluate your life choices.

An easy 8 for this one, too bad the streak is going to end in Spain

Probably true but the races have been surprisingly decent this year.

9 for me...

8.

- Alonso doing what not even Gilles did
- Guys in front pushing (see Hamilton going in T1 while trying to catch Vettel, or Bottas before the pit-stop)
- A tree branch on track
- Red Bull guys giving fun
- Tricky conditions (wind and cold weather giving the drivers extra job)
- Total Randomness (a tree branch on the track)
- Drama and surprise until the last laps

It was packed indeed

Barcelona is not a good track, I reckon. But last year we had an epic battle between Lewis and Seb there. If the cars keep close in race pace as they were in the last races, we are on the way to another classic there.

9, only missing a on track battle for the win.

Trickier than it looks

Apparently all you need is about 10 good laps at the start and 5 crazy laps at the end for people to start throwing 8s and 9s around

There was a huge lull in the middle part, a lot like Spa and Brazil 2008, also deemed classic races due to crazy finishes but also had huge periods of nothing happening like Baku did

I think I'm knocking it down to a 7 just for the 30 laps or so where nothing happened but pit strategy (and like china the Sc really saved the race from being a 3 or 4)

Honestly, I don't expect even a good race to have 100% of laps with battles. It's an F1 race, so you have strategy and pace building as part of the package too. These are not sprint races where all the action is expected to happen on track.

And even in the middle of the race, where there wasn't much happening, we had Hamilton pushing trying to catch Vettel and going wide because of that. And later Bottas trying a different strategy to beat Vettel (stretching his stint at most to push on the ultras in the very end, and perhaps counting the safety car would come, as it did). I think this is a good deliverable from an F1 race: drivers on top pushing and trying different strategies to win. That's where I drop an 8.

I would leave 9s and 10s for what's better than this: Action from beginning to end and an epic closing to the races.

Damn, late to the party. 9/10

The middle part was not dull. Sure it had less action, but people were driving like on ice due to the low grip and unpredictable winds, and the strategy+threat of a SC could've swinged anyone to the top. It was suspenseful.

7/10 for me. Lively start as expected and then some weirdness at the end but the meat of the race was pretty dull and processional.
