Halo aside, looks an awful lot like the 2017 spec cars.

WHO TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS?

Looks like they just took a 2017 car and slapped a HALO on it, and the HALO doesn't look particularly aerodynamically modified or colored. Anyway, this is the poorest team of the grid so there was not much to be expected

zzzzzz

Didn't Haas make a lot of noise about F1 liveries being too boring when they joined? What happened?

If it's their one, they don't think it's boring :whistling:

So it's gonna look good only in night races, where the black halo hides well

what's the point in doing an early reveal when you purposely release dark pictures in order to not reveal details?

So they can say they were first, it'll be the only time this year that'll happen.

Today Haas announced that they plan to be within half a second of Ferrari this season. I thought it was Valentine's rather than April Fools Day?

I know this isn't the place to discuss this, but, can't things fly AROUND the halo? I don't see how thats gonna protect you from a spring flying at you unless it hits the vertical bar in the middle. I don't think it was worth making the car ugly for something that only MIGHT protect you. I still don't understand how this was chosen over a clear canopy.

Car looks the same as last year and they dont know what livery they would pick?
2016 white black or 2017 grey black, hard to decide...
Ill decide for them meeh both suck, do something like torro rosso did 2017 with it that was great livery

And why dark pictures? Are they hiding something? Looks like there is something around the cockpit but i cant see clearly, must be a big wing or something that helps to produce more aero.. :p

This was published last year, it's a little long but worth a watch. It explains the study the FIA conducted on the head protection options including halo and a canopy.

According to the study, some small objects deflected away from the driver's head thanks to the halo.

No, they need to stay! Since Ron left McLaren, Haas has neatly filled the soulless corporate F1 team void.

Well they’ve been doing that since they entered F1, thanks to the technical partnership they have with Ferrari.

funny that they were criticized for doing that after earning points on debut, now everyone is fine with that

I don’t remember those criticisms, that kind of partnership should be encouraged and is no different to what other teams do by sharing technology like gearboxes, entire rear-ends, etc... It would be a logical step to just open up a full customer car rule.
