The sharkfin is going away next year.

This. I'm all for change but the intro video felt like watching a 90s Playstation game intro.

He better get used to it. With only 3 engines for the season next year most of the races will feel like that.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I had a great weekend, you guys! I spend yesterday snowmobiling at my home town and only saw the Q3 of qualifying and F2 race. Today I saw GP3 and F2 and made a great decission. I went to visit my grandparents on my way back home (it's an additional 100 km drive) with a cost of missing the F1 race, first I think since my military service in 2005 and US GP.

Then I made a terrible decission. I watched the re-run of the race just moment ago and was in media-blackout. On my way home I told my wife that I should not check the result or it will spoil the race for me. Or if I check the news, I ruin a great race. I can't win with this, if I check the result, I ruin it, if I don't I waste my time. She then added "like most of the times. Aren't they usually waste of time and boring?" Then I went to explain how I might open the pandora box and this is actually a paradox. It's going to be a great race, IF I check the results and a shit show if I don't. Now it turned out to be a Schrödinger's cat, a Finn won, but it was a shit show. Maybe I should have checked the results and then it could have been a great race, like an all time classic. But no, I stubbornly refused to check any news or social media before I had sit through the re-run. What a waste of time. Like arriving to a party when everyone else has already leaving.

Anyway, since we keep letting F1 to be called motorsport, I have an announcement. I'm going to participate in a motorsport event as a racer! Nothing huge, just filling my life long dream of doing my home town snowmobile endurance race next March. So I was thinking that maybe I start my own diary/blog about it in General Motorsports section, if someone (anyone) is interested to see stuff like that. Mostly it would be like seeing nice pictures from the arctic wilderness and from my garage when I try to figure out how to get the thing work properly for me and the mentioned event. I mean, it might not be the most interesting thing in the world, but sure in hell it ain't gonna be as awful as this F1 weekend. I see there's 109 posts and about 1400 views over here.

TL;DR: missed F1, gained something. Grandpa was also there and they both had wonderful time with their great grandchildren.

P.S: Next season is going to suck.

I hope not, it's the last one with any free-to-air coverage in the UK...

Icekarting was fun. Watching the race afterwards was not. I share the feeling of that Finnish bloke above me.

This is the kind of race that would've been moderately exciting anywhere else. Not much passing, but close racing for some of the lead positions with that "no mistakes allowed" pursuits, can be incredibly thrilling (for example, Nico vs Lewis at Suzuka 2014 in the wet).

The race track fucking matters. What works on a treacherous punishing track, does not on this tarmac-land piece of shit where the worst that can happen is that you take the shortcut and rejoin with a tenth off. And while on the subject, I'm super glad F1 is coming back to France in 2018!!! On Abu Dhabi Mk2 of all tracks!!! Yaaaaaay

Edit: here's a little game: which track is Paul Ricard, and which is Yas Marina?

Hint: there's a very small hint on one of the pictures if you look closely

And we're still going to watch it.

From my perspective, the only positive of the next season is Kubica and his comeback (which I hope will happen).

Paul Ricard is Mk0 of all Tilkedromes, it was the experiment of huge runoff areas and so 30 years before Tilke

I see they going to use the full layout of Paul Ricard. Just also going t happen to use that crappy chicane when should be going straight on. The irony is that it will probably be the most dramatic race of next year yet no one will see it because of all the seizures induced by the monstrosity of those painted run offs.

I was away for the weekend, and recorded the race. Having seen the comments and the average rating, I won't even bother to watch it. This makes it the first time since 1993 that I haven't watched a race. It had to be Abu Dhabi...

This is literally all you need:

2 spins, 3 overtakes for 12th and a wheel not attached properly.
And that is all she wrote.

Don't believe him, De Cesaris fan, he's just trolling you like we all are. See, we noticed that you were away so we made this whole thread as a great setup so that you would not watch the race. But the joke's gone too far now. Watch the race! It's really worth of it!
