Basically, this seems like a very worsened version of MotoGP's CRT.

If that proposal has ANY interest from Liberty or the FIA then F1 is even more fucked than I thought. That's even worse than his Gold medal or sprinkler ideas.

At this moment I'd take whatever the fuck they think about doing, as long as it changes F1.

They can't make it worse, right?

Like introducing a cost cap and letting Ferrari ignore it, don't panic they've already found it.

Mercedes would still run rings around them...

I'm inclined to think F1 will be uncompetitive and bad as long as one or two teams spend $10 gazillion more than all the other teams, regardless of what the show looks like. If 2002-04 tells us anything, it's that you can change the show all you like but it won't necessarily make races and championships much more interesting unless the dominant team spectacularly fucks up

That's the crux of it. It was the same in the 50s when Mercedes had a huge budget. It was the same in the 80s with McLaren and then in the 2000s with Ferrari. But it's been getting exponentially worse because of improved reliability and that difference in budgets growing significantly over the last 25 years or so

Ah the old "blame the customer" position, sounds all very 2019.

I happened to deep dive Youtube find an old Indycar (IRL) and grid positions were determined by a two or three lap timed laps but they had to make a pitstop in the middle.

My drunken ass thought this was a brilliant fucking idea, I'm surprised it hasn't been done more and I honestly think F1 should consider it.

But not with the way they do pit stops now where 9 guys help remove one wheel. One man per wheel.

F1 is a team sport after all, isn't it?

that's actually a great idea, way better than those segmented qualifyings that always end with Mercedes first, a faulty tool and they drop down the ranks and scramble the grid

Hobo Rasputin got his clock cleaned for the second time by Justice Clarke.

He has not been allowed to appeal the original verdict, Whyte Bikes has been granted an injunction banning Rich Energy from using the stag logo at all (Rich Energy also asked for a 3-month stay on this injunction - they were granted 3 weeks), he has been told to either destroy, rebrand or simply hand over to Whyte all merchandise with the stag logo currently on it, the Rich Energy trademark on the logo has been ruled invalid, and Rich Energy has been ordered to disclose to Whyte the total value of the merchandise (i.e. the drinks) sold bearing the illegal logo for the purpose of ascertaining a fair level of compensation.

He will again be allowed to seek leave to appeal all of the new orders (excluding the refusal to appeal the original verdict).

So based on his recent twitter rant against Plato and Chris Harris, I'm assuming now the Justice Clarke ALSO does not understand trademark law... :whistling:

He's got a point, f1's greatest season of the modern era was 2012 and people were still moaning about the racing back then, leading to.the harder tyres from 2013 and needless higher downforce regs for 2017 leading us to where we are now.

It just proves whatever regs f1 runs, people wont be happy and we might as well just suck it up and try to get some enjoyment out of what we are given in any era as they could end up to making things worse trying to please us.

I've said this before, people will ALWAYS complain about something. When they were lenient on penalties people bitched something needs to be done, now people bitch about the penalties all the time. People complained tires are too soft and go away too fast, now they're much harder and it's still bad. Three DRS zones instead of two? Bad racing. It's a no win situation for F1 because nice looking cars & engine sound is still paramount. And Ferrari still has it's veto

Some silly season chattel courtesy of AMuS.

https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/for ... -mercedes/

The thrust is quite simple; they allege that Max has a break clause (said to be that if he is not in the top 3 of the WDC by Hungary then he can walk) and that he is getting ready to use it in order to take Bottas' seat. Vettel also has at least one break clause that he may also use to go back to Red Bull, and Ferrari know the risk and are also looking around for a driver just in case.

In pretty big fashion. The tl;dr is that they:

- Had their application to appeal refused
- Are banned from using 'their' logo from 18th July (they requested a 3-month stay and this was refused!)
- Must either deliver 'all infringing products' to Whyte Bikes, destroy them, or change/remove logos, by 1st August
- Must disclose their total UK and global sales figures to Whyte Bikes
- Must pay costs of £35,416 to Whyte Bikes within 14 days

This isn't even the end of it - they still need to agree damages that will be paid to Whyte Bikes, which is almost certainly where the delivery of infringing articles and sales information come into it. They're pretty fucked.

If I remember right they can appeal to a higher court. Which they will do. Storey seems to suggest he doesn’t accept the ruling
