It's an old and weird part of English (and Welsh, but not UK) law. A death must be investigated by a coroner if it was:

Violent or unnatural
Sudden and of unknown cause
In prison or police custody
Suspected to be suicide

Mosley was definitely three of these, we know now. Inquests are a matter of public record for various reasons.

I agree. I was reading the morbid details on motorsport websites, who've clearly lifted it from the tabloids, it was incredibly unnecessary.

The Vegas race is officially on. First F1 Grand on a Saturday since 1985 South African GP.

So I guess it'll be 2-day event similar to Imola in 2020? Feels like just another Liberty Media marketing gimmick but won't write it off until I see how the racing itself is. Here's the intended layout:

Well having what I guess is a major thoroughfare through the city closed off for least amount of time as possible is probably more the reason rather than a gimmick

glorified Formula E tracks

ugh, so over it. 3rd race in the US... I know the speech about distance from Austin and Miami, blabla, but that is not the point. The point is representation. No race at all in Africa, only one in South America. Speak all you will about "markets" and so on, but I think it is detrimental to F1's status to sell yourself to US special interests like this, a country which has fewer TV viewers than Austria...

If we thought DRS was too easy in Saudi it is going to be mind numbingly infuriating along that back straight.

For the US size and population, I think 3 races is appropriate, plus it's a growing market, so you need to captialise on it, it would dumb for F1 to just ignore the growing momentum it has

So the race will be starting at 10pm Vegas time? That's bonkers.

Oh and that back straight is almost 2km long apparently.

Hate street circuits, hate night races. When combined, it's even worse. So couldn't care less.
If on the other hand they announced a race in Magny-Cours or some other traditional circuit, then I'd be hyped up.
Well, at least we got Imola back permanently, thanks to Covid.

There will be rotating drafting groups like in cycling races

Fully agree with the general feeling here, this track just seems to tick all the wrong boxes. There will be some really nice shots though, just Saudi Arabia looked awesome in heli cam, imagine this.
