They've killed F1TV Pro over VPNs. Back to dodgy streams, then.

That's f*cking stupid. :x I use VPN 24/7 for everything, mostly because for some reason my connection dies sometimes without VPN (100% certain if I do parallel downloads) and I need to to boot the modem. Maybe I need a new modem, but that would cost 150€. With VPN on the modem never disconnects. Now I fear I may lose connection during an F1 race.

EDIT: Actually turning VPN off, starting the stream, and turning VPN back on works. It only detects if you click the stream with VPN on. But I have to do it for every session from now on :yuk:

looks like Liberty is trying to tweak sprint races once again, by placing the shootout on fridays, then Sprint early in saturday followed by actual qualifying

if they stop sprints during regular season I can see them pulling as a "sprint winter series" on older cars and crew that is not from the teams to do sprint races on great venues like Losail, Sakhir, Abu Dhabi

Here’s a crazy idea for the fia. Admit the sprint races are a failed idea, apologize for them, ditch them and add a new rule that anyone ever trying to suggest them will be banned from any involvement in autosport

Surely they get more eyeballs on the sport rather than boring practice sessions? :o I'd hardly call that a failed idea

There is a really easy fix for the sprint races. Make the drivers choose if they want their finishing position as the starting position for sunday, or if they want to have the points they earned instead. Whoever chooses to keep the points goes back 10 spots. That way title contenders will always start mid pack.

I don´t watch practice sessions. Why? Because it is on Friday, when I´m at work.
I don´t watch qualifying on sprint race weekends. Why? Because it is on Friday, when I´m at work.

Should have allowed Andretti to join. We're left with 18 cars next year by where this is going. Well, less contrast to F1 Academy which only has 15.

Andretti is complaining nobody is wanting to sell

Alpine now that is becoming a dumpster fire might have a huge drop on their values, but when Michael steps in they will invent any bureaucratic trigger to avoid any selling to a professional operation

Big difference between checking a forum from time to time, and watching an hour or more of a session with sound on.

Alpine will be sold to another shady entity. The new owners won’t invest and rack up a massive debt. Renault/Alpine buys back the team and enters a few 5-year plans before [go to beginning of the text]

I'd just finished listening to "Beyond the Grid" with Otmar talking about how they were on year 2 of their 5 year plan and he was excited for what the future holds and then I saw the news.

The curse of Tom Clarkson... :p

With the shameful way he treated Piastri last year, and then openly gloating early this year, I hope the door swings back and hits Otmar fair in the nuts hard for good measure.

How much of a hand have the new Hollywood owners had in all of this? If none, then they sure would be questioning the buy in. If some, then I can see it as a play to drive down the value so as to pick the team up for a discount when it inevitably goes up for sale.

I do feel for Alan Permane though. He's been with "Team Enstone" since the mid 90s and experienced all highs and lows with them.
