Sauber could pull a trick right there, saying they will boycott, but instead of parking they keep going on and without Lotus and FI they score easy points

Sutil suddenly having Q3 worthy pace is imminently suspicious on its own.... :o

Amazing mea culpa from Bernie tonight. Finance, contracts, regulations all wrong. Incredible admission.

Pffft, what would they win by boycotting...

Another farce during an us Grand Prix. That's what they where rumored to treath with. I don't know if there has been any back room talks with the other teams but f1 is desperate to break into the U.S. market so a boycot wouldn't be what they want.

Potentially they can win a lot with a boycot and by saying they won't boycot I think they actually won the first battle.

Quite amazing when you consider how far off the pace they were at the start of the season.

A lot of it's down to the softer tyre.

Yup, they lost downforce but used soft tire while in 2012/2013 they had mediums as option tire. The 2012 pole was faster, though, as they could use DRS everywhere.

COTA has two long straights in which the current PUs give a big advantage over the previous V8s.

It's nothing new, actually. In Bahrain(very early in the season) they were already 1 second from last year's pole and both poles of Rosberg were done on the yellow tire.

When you look into top speeds you realize the real effect of these PUs. Vettel's 2012 pole was 1.35.6 and his top speed was 308kmh(320 the highest of all drivers), his 2013's had also top speed of 308(314 being the top speed trap) while yesterday Rosberg's was 335kmh(337 being the highest speed trap)

Yeah, the best thing he did in F1 together with Monza 09 and that Monaco race in which Kimi crashed him out.

I 'unno I don't know if his brakes will hold up.

Still, the theme of this season seems to be that Nico is quicker in qualifying and Lewis in the race, so we'll see....

(Hoping for another great pass like we saw in Japan, which I feel, due to the terrible way in which that race ended, will always be overshadowed)

for the championship it would be nice if they go to Abu Dhabi on equal points (or a little advantage for Rosberg given Hamilton's dominance around Yas Island).

I think the championship should go to the driver that has won the most races.

*Pauses for a second while all NASCAR fans start to point and laugh at him*

Nah, F1 needs a knockout system where you knockout the lowest 27 cars, then 3 races later get ride of 8, then another 4 so you have 4 left, oh hang on.... did I say 27?

Vergne on French TV: "I'm not too worried about my future, things will work out, I'll stay in F1". Sounded very optimistic!
