I see people on other fora going "So this weekend there's going to be some kind of tourist racing in F1. F1 is really losing a lot of its elegance this way."

Seriously. I hate these "F1-fans" that think that the only REAL RACIN' is their beloved little series.

Absolutely nothing against Andre getting a chance but I just don't see what either he or Caterham are going to get out of it.

Hope it rains or something.

As head moderator I can tell you it's a fucking pain in the ass sometimes. Sometimes I just want to give up my status so I can just tell some people over there how much of a bloody idiot they really are. Fucking idiots.

32 is a bit late to make your debut in F1 these days. And the move just seems so pointless. Next week they'll put Paffett in the Force India or something. He tried when he was young but failed, what is there to gain by trying now in the slowest team?

his racing experience in changing conditions is what i think caterham is hoping to capitalize on. a bit like nascar used to have road racing specialists for the road courses.

i wish him the best. but there's always a chance he bins it on the start

Imagine leaving the pit box in a car that you have never ever driven. All on speed limiter. You take the turn right at la Source, leave the pit lane, switch off the speed limiter, and the first corner you see in front of you is Eau Rouge. Probably in soaking rain.

I would probably cry a bit.

Philippe Adams....now thats a name I havent heard in a long time.

what a joke he was.

Post subject:  Re: 2014 Formula One Shell Belgian Grand Prix

Really? A joke? Adams was a successful racer in the junior formulae, was Gil De Ferran's closest challenger to the 1992 British F3 championship winning multiple races for the beleaguered Alan Docking Racing team and was thrown into the Lotus with zero testing and F1 experience on perhaps the most challenging weekend (weatherwise) of the 1994 season. Calling Adams a joke is not only unfair and harsh, but also suggests he should be placed into the same catagory as Johnny Carwash, Jean Denis Deletraz and a few of the other pay-as-you-play drivers that season.

Adams was talented but was in F1 at the wrong time with the wrong team. A joke? Hardly.

EDIT - I'd forgotten that Adams also won the 1993 British F2 (nee F3000) championship against some tough competition... Mikke Van Hool, Phil Andrews, and others...
