I don't understand why they handle DRS the way they do round this track.

They have 1 detection point for 2 zones & then put the detection point miles before the hairpin which means that you can pass into the hairpin & then use DRS to pull away down the next 2 straights.

Or end up with drivers backing off to ensure they get DRS like Alonso/Hamilton did last year:



I'm not having a go at DRS as its not been too bad this year, I just think its idiotic to have it setup the way they do here, Especially since this isn't even a track which needs much DRS given how it was always a track that produced good racing & overtaking without DRS.

What was the year when the hairpin started breaking up and a lot of people rain wide, felt a bit like a wet race in the dry?

My memory says 2006 but others on twitter say 2008 so I dunno.... :?

2008 it also was filled with holes and cement to cover up those. The grip was bad which resulted in Massa's double overtake.
