question: hamilton will be dropped 5 position due to gearbox change. How does it work with the castrol predictor? I mean, if i think hamilton will get the fastest lap in qualify ( and then he will start 5th ) should i pick him for pole position or not?

Exactly what I'd like to know.

If he gets pole, and therefore is 5th after his penalty, he is 5th. My understanding is that its the position you start the race, he cannot be on pole.

All the experts have picked Lewis for pole, so maybe if he gets pole then you are given the points for pole.

Were their predictions done before the penalty?

My understanding is that you are not awarded pole position until you start the race; their was a big debate about it last year at some point.

FORIX shows that Kimi Raikkonen was not awarded pole for Monza 2005 even though he qualified first as he started eleventh due to a penalty...

Changes to qualifying results
In the event of any penalties or demotions regarding qualifying, pole position will be determined by whichever driver starts the grand prix from first position on the official starting grid.

The same policy also applies to most positions gained, which relates specifically to the difference between race start and finishing position.

Strange rules, I always thought the fastest driver in Q was given Pole Position. So if Lewis qualifies on Pole tomorrow, he will not be in the PC because he gets a 5 place grid penalty? So you can even get a Pole without being the fastest qualifier Or is it only like this in this game and not for real?
