Yeah, I'm not denying that Alonso did the best job in Q3. I just don't think it's fair that he made it that far when the team had made the wrong decision.

well, with what we know now, you could argue that Ferrari in the end did the right decision... perhaps they knew the rain would be so heavy a red flag would be justified... ;)

judging the 'moving weather radar', I think showers will miss the circuit. I'd guess it stays mostly dry.

If it's sunny I expect the race to be cancelled just in case the sun shines on the drivers faces.

Regarding the qualy, some seem to be asking for the officials to act so as to guarantee 100% fairness at all times. It's not their job. They take decisions based on the conditions and safety, without thinking whether it will advantage this or that car. If it does, tough luck.

All drivers had the same access time to the track at any given moment through the session. It was as fair as F1 can be without becoming a mess of unspoken, unverifiable and arbitrary rules.

Bernie is in the media centre. Wonder if he's trying to soothe journos not to go all out against SStone?

Jacques Rogge is in Silverstone being guided around the paddock by Bernie. Hopefully they can both make something happen for Spa next year

Yeah, they both rocked up in the media centre. Seemed a little odd...

Rogge will probbaly claim that the GP is taking place too close to London too close to the Olympics and demand it's cancelled.

Rogge's term as IOC president (after Samaranch's long one, they are now limited to three four-year terms) comes to the end next year AFAIK.
