The McLaren is currently slower in a straight line than the Sauber.

Alonso has been quoted saying they're nearly 30 kph slower.
He's also slammed Honda in public again.

All well at Mclaren then.

Honda will dropout at the end of the season.
That or they get a 2nd team to collect more data

Apparantly the Ultra Soft this year isn't worth a lot, meaning it's not really quicker than the softs.

Meaning there's no real "tyre-correction" needed when you watch the laptimes.

Also, what's the use of producing these tyres if there's no difference?

Alonso on Sky - "I am the best driver out there, I just need an engine that can run as quick as the others on the straight."
Then he told Spanish media - "The team is ready to win apart from Honda, No reliability & no power".

Also Force India are complaining that the tyres are too durable, Say they hope the tyres are tweaked. I'm sure the fact there cars tend to be easy on tyres & that stopping 1 time less than the rest has benefited them a lot over recent years has nothing to do with them wanting a change.

Hulkenberg on the other hand thinks the new tyres are "Double the fun" to drive.

Also it seems there has been another change relating to the starts which drivers are saying is making the starts more difficult as its now totally in there hands.

And finally, FOM have uploaded the OnBoard of Bottas' fastest lap of the day (1:19.310):

Even worse than 2015 for Honda? Was this the last day of testing for Alonso? No mysterious crash in turn 3 for him again?

I don't think they have one anymore.

Jean Todt says no V10 or V12s...and that probably means no V8s either.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.ph ... e-accepted

This sounds exceedingly hypocritical though:
Quote:
"Also, we know that stability is essential - firstly, to have as much competition as possible, and then to protect the investment.

"You cannot invest in new technology every year, it is not financially sustainable, and we already complain about the cost of racing, the cost of Formula 1 - a cost that for me is absurd."

He's full of shit.

Honda is such a huge disappointment. How on earth can they still be 3 sec off the pace after they started developping the engine? And on top of that the engine seems very unreliable.

Such a pity for Stoffel.

I believe I've seen a quote from Alonso about Honda's lack of power, saying: "Every corner is flat-out for us".

Already quote of the year.

"At the end of his remarkable press conference, Alonso was asked whether he was taking Turn Three flat-out. He almost burst out laughing before explaining that, because of the reduced power from the Honda, he was taking every corner flat-out..."

Just imagine how beastly and efficient the v8s or v10s would be now if they had the same rate of development and energy put into them that these v6s have had.

I do not buy that not environmentally friendly crap at all. Development pretty much came to a dead halt on them

it's not that they want more clean f1. They want more clean every day cars and the development they do in f1 will once again find his way on everyday cars in the next years. and i think formula-e is almost as important under this aspect. how many cars you know that have a 3000cc V10?
