Seriously? That used to be a challenging chicane. How much easier do they want to make every single track? FFS.

It's fine to feel frustrated if things aren't going your way. But Alonso has a very poor way of dealing with his frustration and it ends up compounding the problem. He needs to find a new way of handling it.

Insanity is repeating the same exercise over and over again and expecting a different result.

And the press has nothing to do with it right? They aren't the people constantly asking questions about it.

I'd like to see some of you people driving in F1 for 10 years and being able to respond like a robot to all questions when things aren't going your way.

Allright, I'm defending Fernando and perhaps that's me being a fanboy. But I don't think you would respond any differently to attacks on Lewis and Sebastian.

The press are the same for every driver. I don't see any other driver constantly trying to play these games. I have never seen, for example, Sebastien try and do this sort of shit. Or Kimi. Or Button. Or Lewis. Alonso can give any answer he wants to the questions he is asked, but every time he tries the same tactic and it ends up blowing up in his face.

That's a load of crap. I dont have the time to look up sources for examples because I have to prepare my exam. But you keep telling yourself that lol and I'll keep by my view.

Safety reasons obviously. I mean Fernando Alonso spun there last year during practice. That was extremely dangerous.

I remember the reason was that between the grass there was a tarmac path, and because of the risk car bouncing up in the air at the border of grass, all the grass was removed.
But seriously, has that corner ever been dangerous due to grass? No!

Well technically, shouldn't it be "going tarmac'ing" or "going grasscreting"?

I think it was Ellis who constructed a wonderful post about Alonso's attempts at mind games not so long ago. Everyone should read it.

It's a very good barometer for Alonso's own mental state. The more often he comes out with this sort of crap, you know it's because his blood pressure has gone up two octaves. Think back to the end of last season. He was drip-feeding quotes on a daily basis by the time they got to Brazil, a process which matched up very well with the stream of stories about internal conflict within Ferrari and a downturn in his own performance. He took himself out at Suzuka. He had a verbal fight with his garage team at India. He was outraced by Massa at Korea. All of which led to that photo of him at Interlagos where he looked like a man about to climb the gallows.

As a Vettel and Hamilton fan, I find it very comforting that Alonso is having to resort to this busted flush before the halfway point. He knows he's in trouble.

I'll copy it over here.

sorry, but what context are you talking about exactly?

Sky interview. Fernando was doing his usual - bad mouth the competition and make it sound like the other teams are rubbish.

"Some teams like to say they have the best car, but the last 3 pole positions have not been by them". It is obviously referencing Red Bull and picking and choosing facts to try and back up his BS, whilst Red Bull sit top of both tables currently.

It's similar to when he deliberately makes a reference to Lewis being the best driver on the grid. He only does it when the pressure is getting tight on him and Seb when the title is coming to a close. He says Lewis is the best, to try and affect Sebastian. The beauty of it is, Lewis hasn't been in the title race for a while, so complimenting him means nothing, because Lewis isn't in a position to capitalise. And Lewis, not being a complete dick, naturally returns and says "nah I think Fernando is better". Every so often he'll say Kimi is the best too, and Kimi just doesn't give a fuck.

Basically if you listen to everything Fernando says, it's all psychological warfare. It's all very clever and designed to either annoy or get under the skin of his competitors. The problem is that it doesn't affect them as much as he wants, and he is the one who ends up struggling more, resulting in situations like below, where you can tell Fernando is just broken.

Fernando loves mind games. His problem is he's shit at them.

Fernando is actually completely different to other drivers, as he is literally the only one who is continually making unprovoked comments. Yeah sure sometimes he's just answering the question, but how many times are Vettel, Lewis and Kimi on Twitter saying stuff like they have the soul of a samurai, and they're the moral victors etc? Yeah - none. Fernando plays mind games but continually loses at them. That picture of him in Brazil - that is the day Sebastian broke Fernando.
