Oh well, cheers up if you wanted rain.
Last years race was very good in dry conditions...

Last years race was the best I've seen in Barcelona, followed by 1991. I haven't yet watched 1997 but reading the reports, Panis finishing 2nd must have made it a good race.

2011 was also not too bad, but Hamilton couldn't pass Bettel even though he was considerably faster at the time.

Everything else has been ordinary.

1997 wasn't great. It wasn't terrible, but IIRC, there was lots of following around behind Schumacher. Some teams tyres went off, there was lots of pit stops and Panis appeared 2nd.

Remind me again why last year was so great? It had the funny Schumacher/Senna accident and Maldonado doing the race of his life, but that's about it. It was better than expected for a Barcelona race but there isn't a track where I have lower expectations than Barcelona.

A surprise winner and some good racing throughout. This track sets pretty low standards, so anything remotely exciting is considered a good race.

can't believe we had to wait 3 weeks for a race in Spain... quite underwhelming I must say.

something that I never quite understand is how they can manage to pull off a one stopper at monaco with the super soft and the soft. Given all those laps and all those corners, you'd imagine the tyres are broken after 10 laps.

Track layout-wise, the fast corners cause most tyre wear, especially on the outer side. Monaco doesn't have a lot of those.

So does wheel spin and sliding around. Monaco has little grip so the cars slide around a lot.

Although I've never been fan of Barcelona, the fact it still has some gravel traps puts the track ahead of most Tilkedromes.
