I am going this weekend, but is it worth it to go on Thursday already? What are the possibilities that day?

It depends where you can go. I'm not sure about Spa but you might be able to get autographs, as Tobias says, or see some of the drivers do their trackwalk.

That's what I regret about 2009, I didn't explore as much as I should have done. Hopefully I'll get enough money to go next year as media!

You should do a one-off non-F1 report of the 24 Hours, 5 days (and nights) of exploring without having to worry about where or where not you are allowed to go and stand.

Been only twice, 1998 & 2005 (latter one was free), and as far as I'm concerned, I'm more than happy to stay at home once again. It's not the Spa I know during the F1-weekend :(

I must have gone the one year that not a drop of rain fell on Saturday and Sunday

Spa 24 hours? What time of year is that?

End of July. For whatever reason it has always been like winter in previous years.

I suppose that's part of why I dislike experiencing the F1 weekend live on the spot  Even though (as you know), Spa more often than not has that kind of weather. Not to mention the incredible traffic jam in 2005 that took us 4 hours to get to Liège, and I had a big test at school the day after.

In 2005 I was sitting at Raidillion/start of Kemmel the whole day. GP2 fence-crash happened like right in front of me, but due to the rain I only noticed what'd just happened about 5 minutes later. Did hear a lot of smacks and crunching metal though lol, then suddenly saw a rather big bended rail and catchfence right in front of me.

Yeah, Spa isn't great for spectators but we still love it. I mean, it looks brilliant. Silverstone on the other hand is such a bland place but, you can see loads. I stood by the pit entry and could see the exit of Stowe down to the exit of Vale. If you sit at Village or Maggotts, you can see so so much.

@Stan, sounds good but money + effort is going on F1 next year!

come on, I'm sure everyone asks himself the same question every year. Will we see a huge crash at Eau Rouge this year or not?

During F1 it isn't, to be honest.

true, the bronze view on Busstop is blocked by a grandstand.
But Spa is so much better than all the others because you can buy a bronze ticket and take a walk round the track to see every corner for the price of 1 ticket.

Having sat in several grandstands and only switching over to general admission last year, I must admit the bronze tickets are really worth their money (certainly relative to the stands). Several stands provide you with views through fencing, while in bronze there are still quite a few areas which don't have fencing in the way.

If I had to pick the best grand stand I shat in, it would probably be that silver one just before the Eau Rouge corner starts. View from exit La Source and you see them powering up eau rouge and disappearing up Kemmel. Good value I found that (and in 2005, when I attended, the podium was right there in front of me!).

Silverstone is better in terms of what you can see.

But from now on, I'd quite like a seat reserved in a warm media centre!

No wonder that FP was red flagged a couple of years ago.
