And a massive fine for the team.

But Norris was on an out lap too so might not result in much?

Why would you go so slow through a 190mph corner

Verstappen on pole save for the investigation.

Leclerc and Sainz less than 0,06 behind. Mercedes totally off the pace.

Because they go slow all over the track every weekend and no one gets properly punished for it.

Knowing the fia trackrecord I wouldn’t hold my breath that max gets a penalty either

Surely Max will get a penalty, but it's not exactly unusual for a car to go slow before a qualy lap.... so gosh that was kinda stupid for Lando to pass at that speed as well

You have to be smart about it, be visible and predictable. He failed at both, for being at exit of a fast turn, and for losing the car. Nothing mischievious but honest mistakes get punished too.

If Lando brakes hard, it only displaces the problem one car back and now you have two lanes blocked closer to the corner and no escape route for any potential third car. Lando was going a correct speed for a race track, Verstappen wasn't.

No penalty

Meanwhile Alonso was given a penalty at Monza in 2006

If Ferrari don't kill their tyres after 5 laps it could be a decent race.

FIA cited previous cases where only a reprimand was given, thus proving that bad decisions can only be repeated and that nothing else is possible.

Every year at Spa we see drivers bringing flowers to Eau Rouge to remember Hubert, it´s on all the social media,... You can´t miss it.
I haven´t seen anything for Bianchi in Suzuka?

That was a stonking qualifying effort by Vettel to drag that POS up to P9 and only a few tenths behind the Alpine and Mercedes. He's definitely got a something extra around this place.

Was he really though? I get your point if it was a hot lap, but I mean Norris was following Verstappen around for the entire outlap and knew he was there. It's not like he suddenly arrived at 130R and realized "Omgzzz there's a Red Bull ahead of me!!11!". Plus, isn't there a gentleman's agreement of no overtaking on a qualifying outlap, particularly in sector 3? While Verstappen was a bit erratic, Norris could've taken a more cautious approach into that corner knowing the entire time he was following Verstappen.

Wait until Monday when it's confirmed they did overspend on the Cost Cap but the FIA give them zero or a very light penalty "oh it was the first year, they didn't know they messed up, could've happened to anyone in the first season, poor dears"

If that was in the race it'd be at least a drive through if not a stop-go. No penalty for forcing another driver off track is bizarre

Post subject:  Re: Formula 1 Honda Japanese Grand Prix 2022

today we got very close to a big crash, imagine if that was on a track like Singapore or Jeddah, someone could had plunged into the wall

if the driver was Latifi, Stroll and their blue caps you could expect a big grid loss

They probably bet it all on a wet race and qualified with a wet setup.
