Vaccine mandates and the right to choose what you do with your body don't exactly jive now do they. You only have the right to do what you want if it fits the narrative of the majority.

Further, now you all know that the court striking down Roe vs Wade doesn't actually make anything illegal right? All it does is put that decision back in the States hands. Some states may choose to make it illegal, but that's their decision which some have effectively done even with R vs W still applying.

Personally, I didn't think they'd do it, but the decision was iffy in the first place based on a right to privacy. Still, government had 50 years to put a federal law on the books and failed to do so, so who's fault is it really?

Edit: Before this goes way sideways, let us take this to the news thread or anywhere other than the Sunshine GP.

Women who are pregnant don't infect the rest of the population with their pregnancy though, so it's almost like those are two completely seperate matters conflated together for no reason (oh wait, there are reasons, all of them bad...)

Don't get vaccinated: risks the entire population dying of a pandemic

Don't allow women to have abortions: government taking away the rights of women to make decisions about their own lives and their own bodies based on some made up fairytale in a book written thousands of years ago to subdue the population

my personal experience has been that the "book" you're talking about is one of the truest and most honest things we have in this world. and while many hypocrites will use the abortion issue to find more ways to oppress women, children's bodies seem to be forgotten about. we can't create real justice for women by killing children; one form of oppression doesn't cancel out the other.

as for the track - there's a version of the track on rfactor2 and it's a lot of fun to race on. the asymmetrical corners create some interesting challenges. some elevation changes would be nice, but florida is probably the flattest place on the planet

The vaccine didn’t and still doesn’t do Jack shit to stop the spread of the virus. It’s only use was as a symptom suppressant and it worked quiet well in that respect with its target core group (the elderly).

Oops sorry didn’t see the other post from the boss, carry on, race will be shit and is a waste of a slot, imho.

So the event is sponsored by crypto and now Mercedes have a garish NFT rear wing. What's next?

I think crypto and NFT are more damaging to society than abortion, lgbt rights or many other things included in the conservative agenda

McLaren also got a crypto main sponsor. This is all gonna come crashing down and there will be casualties...

Remember that dodgy Austrian GP sponsor that no one heard of before or since.

Edit: And I forgot they one upped that with an even dodgier sponsor the next year...

Actually 8 teams are sponsored by a company that works with crypto.

i like it, tho it'd would be more fun if they covered more of the car.

the nft market works very similar to the art market, the same rich people are getting richer off of it. but at least the money is going to a good cause

This all heads into eliminating physical money, even credit cards would be outdated if they aren't in certain financial areas already. That's the main goal of these banks & financial institutions. If you don't have physical money in your hand then you can be controlled from the outside. Easily controlled.

Yes, it will all come crashing down and we'll have another global financial crisis "nobody saw coming" and as usual immigrants, teachers & plumbers will be blamed for it. It's only a matter of time. It could happen in the late 2020s for sure.

I don't really get the NFT stuff.

And I don't trust fictional currencies. I'm close to a P45 at my job. If I can find another job fast, I may use the money to buy gold.

Well at least the budget cap will go some way to protecting the teams when their sponsors inevitably get hacked and people lose the money they were unwittingly laundering

Genuinely don't understand the misery and cynicism surrounding this GP. Feel like I'm in the minority for not condemning it yet

marina's still shit though

judging by the amount of flatout moments during the lap the porpoising will be an all time high

perhaps is because they chose to make the track at a parking lot instead of doing a scenic track at Brickell or south beach

because people would rather some shitty narrow 90 degree bumpy street track at the Beach area with nowhere to pass

this track is suitable enough and is well laid out

Everything so far has been naff and\or cringe. The 'marina' is naff. The 'party' last night was cringe. There is a logic in assuming that everything else will be naff and\or cringe.

Not saying it's guaranteed to pan out that way, but the precedent has now been set.

I'm always excited to see something new. Track is a great layout, F1 is marketing it well. Yeah the fake marina is a bit naff, but if we have a great race here it will all be forgotten about.

I'd rather this race than any in the Middle East. Looks like there will be a lot more atmosphere than most races.

Well, yeah. Hence the eventual gold investment.

I would much rather we have another race in Europe in place of this. I forsee this on the schedule for no more than 3 seasons.
