Bit rich of that wife and girlfriend beater saying "He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems". Well Joss, you can always tell your son to go elsewhere.

I had heard that Jos and Marko were ones that wanted Horner out last week, and I didn't pay it much attention, but now I'm beginning to wonder.....

Do Joss and Max want to muscle their way into part ownership of the team, or some kind of management role for Joss?

I don't like the guy, but to be fair to Horner, he's been number 1 team Max cheerleader since he was in Formula 3 and the reason Max started in F1 so young is that Horner offered the Verstappens a race drive when Mercedes were just offering Max a test driver role+Formula 2

If this is how they repay him for all those years of loyalty, sacrificing anyone else in the Red Bull number 2 car for Max (first Danny then Kvyat, Gasly and Albon) and shaping the entire team around Max, then that's one of the biggest cases of biting the hand that feeds you in sports history.

Also why now, just when everything is perfect within the team, they can win titles at their leisure and any rocking of the boat can only lead to jepordising that with zero upside?

It's madness

If Jos becomes boss, does that mean the drivers/mechanics will be left making their own way home after any mistakes?

If Jos becomes boss I think both RB drivers if offered a promotion might say "nah, I'm good here in the midfield thanks"

More senior personnel changes at Alpine. What a mess. Absolutely no structure or continuity in that organization...

Watch them, with backing of the other teams, be stubborn enough to refuse to sell to Andretti and then end up with no buyer and the rest still blocking Andretti....... :slaphead:

And with the whole Red Bull saga the rumors of Max going to Mercedes are growing. Could this be Jos using his leverage to get Horner out as he wishes?

A number of employees like Newey have release clauses if Horner goes. Get Horner out and bring them over to Merc as Max leads Merc into a new era? Who says Max isn't bored of easy wins.

Well, no one saw Hamilton to Ferrari happening so anything can.

the thing is many people want to venture into F1, their problem is with the Andrettis. Otherwise we could get Andretti-Mechacrome for next year already

I don't understand the issue with the Andretti's. Arrogance on their part? Fear they'll be decent from the other teams?

As for Max and Co... If he bails out of RB and bring Newey with him to Merc, that feels like shades of Schumacher leaving Benetton and bringing the party to Maranello.

That would be preposterous though wouldn't it? In such a move, wouldn't that negate whatever leverage Jos has or thinks he has at RB? Admittedly I don't follow these power struggles that closely so I don't have even a partial understanding really of what is going on.

If Jos succeeds RB will become racing for Nederland, with Jan Lammers, Robert Doornbos and Albers on the management. Talk about an orange army

He is signed up to take part in a rally, he wasn't going anyway.

The duller the racing, the juicier the scandals.
