Lewis had a rear suspension failure in the first stint. Explains a lot.

I'd like to think that, but the next two races are firmly Vettel territory.

Barring a Vettel retirement or two the championship is over. The RBR is much much quicker. Plus from race to race the Mclaren might beat the Ferrari as well.

Alonso's 2011 and 2012 seasons have been brilliant, car simply isn't good enough to challenge Vettel properly.

The problem with the races lately is it makes you remember 2012 differently, whereas up to Silverstone was fantastic.

Eddie's just said that Steve Gutierrez is in the Sauber next year.

Martin Whitmarsh says Hamilton had a rear roll bar failure on lap 18.

I actually really enjoyed this race, Some good fights, Some close racing & a decent amount of overtaking.

Wasn’t action packed all race but was far from been totally dull & was certainly not boring in my view.

DC accidentally shoving the grid girl was one of those horrible awkward moments.

Been there. You just want to get the fuck out.

Anyone who thinks this race was boring as the 02-06 era needs to go watch some races from then. This wasn't a bad race by any stretch.
To be fair in 03 I cannot remember a single mega dull race. That was a brilliant season.

I'm more thinking that Nicole had a wry smile at the end of the race when she witnessed his carpet munching skills...

2003 was pretty awesome indeed. But 2005 wasn't that bad either IMO.

2003 as a season was pretty good in championship terms, but that's only because Schumi wasn't winning all the time. The individual races weren't amazing though. There was odd great race but nothing other than that. Again, the only reason people remember that season and believe it was amazing was because Schumi wasn't winning everything.

Yes. Formula 1 is mostly only great when there are more drivers fighting for the championship and not just one.
I mean, it's nice to have some battles in the midfield, but who gives a shit about 2nd, 9th or 18th place?
It's about the championship and about wins. That made seasons like 2002,2004 and 2011 boring just by looking at the final standings.

I still remember 2003, it would have been so great if Kimi won that one :p

Brazil 2003 was really great; Monza 2003 was a great battle with Schumacher and Montoya. US 2003 was fantastic. And we got the Michlin-illegal-tyre-discussion. It was real better then 2002 or 2004, but the reason 2003 was exciting > there were a lot of cars who could won a race during the season. But most of the races were really boring.

But the championship was exciting. And I think Schumacher was really lucky that year. Raikkonen and Montoya had a real chance of becoming world champion. And without the hydraulic failure of Montoya at Suzuka, he would have scored the same amount of points as Schumacher. But yeah, the engine failure of Raikkonen at Nurburgring was very costly. And his qualifying error at Barcelona. It could have been so difference.
