Probably to let people think he was chosen on his massive talents.

Hold on. If Graeme is bringing €12 million of sponsorship to wherever Max races...why the fuck aren't there any A-On logos on the Marussia?

Supposedly he has partial ownership of the team, but this has been my thought all season too.

the backing that a driver brings doesn't necessarily have to result in sponsorship on the car.

It's family money, so the logo doesn't have to appear.

Anyway, if Chilton goes to Force India, whilst Bianchi is still at Marussia then that's the most undeserved seat I can remember in F1 history. He's quite literally, the worst on the grid, so to give him a drive for a team that threatens to break into the top slots (but still fails) is a joke.

But lets say it does happen, there's a lot of interesting things which could happen. I mean Pastor could still be out of F1 completely. He's suddenly found himself without money, and he isn't exactly running on talent is he? What about Perez? He doesn't appear to come with much money, despite the Mexican links. What if he finds himself without a McLaren drive? Would McLaren look at Hulkenberg, or di Resta? Hulk is the obvious one, but di Resta has a McLaren history (although more linked to Mercedes). It also sounds like I'm bigging di Resta up, but that isn't the case - I'm bringing McLaren down. Right now they're a midfield team, so they should be working with midfield drivers. So that'd be a good fit. And I think Hulk going there would be yet another side step.

So yeah, the driver market is a complete mess right now. But I suspect whilst we're having fun with predictions, not much will change from what is already confirmed.

Maldonado is not without money. He still has the PDVSA money. If he didn't, Lotus wouldn't be so interested!

Basically, everyone in the midfield is in danger. I'd say between Lotus, McLaren, Force India, Sauber and Williams, only Grosjean and Button are safe.

I agree with most of it but I wouldn't say McLaren is a midfield team, that they should work with midfield drivers or that it's a sidestep for Hulk.

Ofcourse this season is horrible but the prospects are good.

He potentially still has PDVSA money. That is a state owned company. So whether or not he continues to be funded is open to debate. That money could disappear very very easily, and frankly without it, he'd have no job anywhere near F1.

corrected ;)

He probably thinks he deserves another go next year purely on the basis that he finishes races.
However, he overlooks the fact that he's sluggish and is probably somewhere in the category of Rosset/Takagi/Karthikeyan.

What about Yuji Ide in 2006??? I think he was the worst...
He had benn told on team radion how to put it in reverse, like he never drove a F1 car...
They probaby told him "if you steer left, the car will go left....."

The difference between those three drivers and Chilton, is that Ricardo Rosset, Tora Takagi and Narain Karthikeyan all had very decent and impressive junior careers. Chilton has been utter crap throughout his entire career and bar a couple of half decent F3 and GP2 races has shown little to no talent or deserving of an F1 drive.

I'm getting quite disenchanted by the potential moves in the pipeline for 2014.

funny that PDVSA isn't achieving too much return for the ammount of money they drop in F1

unless they make a propaganda to set Maldonado as the venezuelan senna

If Hulkenberg again loses out that would be a disgrace. He's one of the best drivers on the grid and should be in a top team. He'd better go to Indycar if he has no race seat in F1 next year.

I again feel that the reason McLaren hasn't signed Perez is that they're waiting on Hulkenberg. I can't see any other reason why they're waiting. No-one else round is more capable than Perez - aside from Hulkenberg - while if they were going to put Magnussen in the car for 2014, they'd have announced it already.

In Chilton's defence, he has shown signs of improvement and is only a few tenths off Bianchi, rather than the whole second at the start of the season. But yes, it will be a travesty if he ends up in a half decent car.

He's almost proving himself worthy of the Marussia drive by the end of the season, but still lagging behind his team mate ... definitely deserves a better drive.

Who is the Hulk's agent and what is he paying him or her?

Most GP2 drivers from the past couple of years would have / could have achieved exactly the same in the 2013 Marussia. Showing minor improvements through the season is hardly remarkable.

The travesty is that Chilton is in F1 at all. (Then again, if anyone of us were in Chilton's position and had money assisting us through the sport we loved, we'd be ok with it I'm sure).

As a Marussia fan (well, Manor fan) the only saving grace is that his father's money has greatly helped Marussia.
