I quite enjoyed their spotlight on the Red Bull vs. Renault rivalry especially that between Horner and Abiteboul.

The first one is not happy by how it was shown, the second tries to convince us that the series is fiction. No doubt the makers only showed the parts that fitted in their spectacular story.

I started watching the Netflix docu and I start to wonder how much they tried to steer things for the show.

For example, they had a segment on Horner while he was at his home talking to his wife and he said he hoped for succes at Monaco for Verstappen.
I wonder if the makers secretly showed Daniel that part hoping to create some extra drama.

Or more likely that segment was filmed weeks or months after the race and they "pretended" the interview was done before Monaco, this happens far more often than you'd think in TV production.

Given what some people were saying in private, and how they were allowed into private conversations at times, I'd be surprised the filming team didn't have a non-disclosure agreement running until the end of the season or something.

Agree with Ian too, a few interviews (mostly the ones voiced over images) didn't sound genuine and more like a pre-written text being read by the interviewee, fitting the narrative and the images shown.

Considering how tame and shallow the recent season reviews have been, this is very much welcome! I think it's properly good.

Ground effect and basic wings? Yes please. Do not change your mind this time!

It's more of an aero flap than a cover likely just to smooth out the airflow over the front wheels & get the aero around the rest of the car to work more effectively as the wheels create a lot of turbulence.

Is maybe to also remove the need for teams to look at outwashing which had a big impact on the car behind it seems & the thing this years changes were supposed to limit.

I like the look of the model but know full well that come 2021 they won't look like that because it's easy for a small team of people to come up with a concept to achieve there goals (Closer racing) but get hundreds of engineer's with more advanced CFD systems & wind tunnels etc... & cars able to run say half a second apart very quickly increases to 1 second+, Especially with F1 rates of development.

The 'covers' don't really make any sense if this is any sort of real output from CFD though - the colour of them suggests they don't receive any useable amount of airflow; even the mirrors and wing endplates are doing more work there. Very odd.

Oh for fuck's sake, just merge with WEC already. All the shit that they want to do is basically there.

Looks like it would create unhealthy, superhuman amounts of ground effect. :o
I'd be careful before calling the wings "simple" or conclude anything about the presence of bargeboards. This is just a CFD model of the flow around the whole car, it would probably be simplified and not contain all the small subtleties which would be detailed in smaller sub-models of specific parts (undisclosed as that design would be specific to each team...)

Goddamn formatting bug, posts keep getting embedded inside the quote whenever there's a Twitter post inside

I find it funny on how those computer models look like with generic racing game cars, maybe they just hire a video game designer

Clearly they're trying to get ahead of the competition.

I'll show myself out...

Head would need a good designer to get a grip on it, like he had with Adrian Newey, Frank Dernie and many others

but I hope things improve a bit

I guess people at Williams have him in much better regard than they have Paddy Lowe - there talks on mutiny during pre-season. So, just have a more respected person onboard to lead the team is an improvement from the current situation.
