Interesting grid for tomorrow's race. I hope the start is dry, maybe rain after few laps, but mostly dry race would be nice.

Maldonado should not be DNQ...just for the lolz.

Williams completely ballsed up the tyre choice as well. Went for inters when everyone else went for wets.

It worked out pretty good for Ricciardo, he was on inters

More testament to the belief that the Red Bull has absurd levels of grip and that once Renault get their shit sorted out they will be winning by 2 laps.

Everyone else in Q3 on inters made a mistake. Alonso started on them and had to switch to wets.

Excellent entertaining session to open the season. 2 rookies in the top 10 and 3 (ex) champions in p11, 12 and 13.

Could that yellow flag/light before turn 11 cause trouble for Hamilton? Or was that a yellow and red slipery track warning light?

Certainly the red/yellow warning light for debris of Kvyat

That was a great session. That's been the only qualifying session I've watched right through for years.

Renault confirms that their software went all Microsoft on Vettel.

Knowing Vettel and Red Bull, his bad luck will appear at times when it doesn't matter all too much but the same will happen to his team mate during the race.

I just finished watching the replay of qualifying. Aussie crowd's reaction as Vettel crossed the line at the end of Q2 was priceless, and dat cheer when Ricciardo goes quickest just before Hamilton comes along and spoils everything. Melbourne is like a pantomime theatre

I found the reaction of the crowd to Vettel's lap to be pathetic.
And it has made me realize than when I'm going to the Spanish GP in May, I'm gonna be in the middle of a pack of 120 000 hardcore Alonso fanboys who will cheer for him and for nothing else. I hope he sucks during that particular race.

Just wait until Hamilton grabs pole in front of them :slaphead:

I found that to be a really great qualifying. Loving the fact that Ricciardo, Magnussen and Kyviat are in the top 8. Depending on the reliability of Mercedes tomorrow, it could be a great race on all fronts, but certainly for P3.
