Just read an article about the rumour about Kobayashi replacing Grosjean at Lotus :)

Wouldn't that really be just trading once vice for another?
It's not like Kobayashi hasn't binned his fair share of cars over the years (although I'd love to see Kobayashi in the Lotus with Kimi, I bet one the team radio guys would have a meltdown sooner or later).

I would like to see that but I personally think they are about the same, I feel that Grosjean has the slight edge. If he continues next year as he has this year with his silly mistakes, then I think he will be on his way out possibly for good. People in F1 have increadibly short memories, but at the same time increadibly long memories.

With that amount of cash he could buy HRT... ;)

You could buy HRT. Nominal fee €1.

You could service the debt by making some bogus post-Sandy insurance claims.

Non-bogus Sandy insurance claims are being denied, so I doubt I'd have much luck there.

JJ Lehto released from all charges relating to 2010 boat crash

Former grand prix driver JJ Lehto has been freed of all charges for his part in the boat accident that killed a friend in 2010.

Last year, Lehto had been sentenced to two years and four months in prison after a court found he was drunk and speeding on his boat before crashing into a bridge support pillar in Finland in July of 2010.

Lehto, 46, had appealed the sentence, claiming he was not steering the boat, but instead sitting in the back when the accident occurred.

The Finn, who raced in Formula 1 from 1989 and 1994, has now been cleared of all charges.

If I owned Lotus, I'd pick Grosjean even if there were no sponsorship considerations.

Bluechip company Honeywell may be Lotus' title sponsor next year, which could well take money out of any driver considerations.

Honeywell make all kind of parts for Aircraft in the RAF, mainly its the Air Con units I've seen with the Honeywell name on.

Honeywell also does chemicals. They recently launched a new green cooling agent for car air cons together with DuPont. Then Mercedes discovered that this new cooling agent has the unpleasent characteristic to set the car on fire in case of a crash. Now Mercedes and also VW have rejected the new Honeywell product. Maybe Honeywell wants to fight it out on the track with Mercedes.

This will probably go to the supreme court of Finland. The difference between the first trial and the higher trial is that in the first one, the judgement was done based on the police evidence that said JJ was driving the boat. In higher court, there was well known professional accident investigators gave testimonials that JJ was sleeping behind the driver's seat instead.

It's nice that Caterham is listed as 1Malaysia and Marussia as Manor. But why did they keep their old name there?

I've always wondered what the SPA means after Torro Rosso and Ferrari's company names. I'm guessing its Italian influenced?

Società per Azioni, an Italian corporate form used by major public corporations quoted on the Italian stock exchange.

Taken from Wikipedia so take with a pinch of salt?
