Well this year Vettel wasn't even number 1 in his own team, so...

Sorry but what?

Lewis had three retirements, two were mechanical and one was Nico induced. Whereas Nico had three retirements, each mechanical and managed to salvage handsome points in Canada despite the ailments. Then Lewis had mechanical issues in two qualifying sessions which significantly handicapped his races versus his teammate. Nico had zero. Then Lewis also suffered in Monaco qualifying when Nico had his off, accidental or intentional.

Nico wasn't 'a little bit slower' than Lewis in the races. That's a bit of a stretch. Nico's comment suggests he was breathing down Lewis' gearbox at each and every race. That only happened a couple of times. Lewis caught and passed Nico for the win at multiple races this year. Nico never did the same to Lewis.

Nico did qualify better than Lewis. Lewis did make more mistakes in qualifying versus Nico. But 11 poles to 6 ignore what happened in Monaco, Hockenheim and Hungary.

Nico was not 'a tiny bit slower' than Lewis in the races. Far from it.

He said "He's had far more bad luck with the car" and I only pointed out that this was not true. Nico had more bad luck with the car. Spa was a racing incident and not a car failure.

I think his perception came because of all the cry that surround Lewis. He's always made to be the "poor guy" by the media, in general, as he had lot's and lot's of passionate fans.

Rosberg was also affected by Lewis mistake in Austria and that didn't allow him to continue his second lap and have a shot at pole. Barcelona Q3 was affected by Vettel stopping on track and bringing a red. That ruined MErcedes first attempts and they only got a lap there. They only got a lap in Monaco too and Nico was simply faster, as is usual tbh. Won't even bring Singapore's QLF where Lewis was off track in T1 and got pole by 0.007s... Track limits policy is inconsistent

The car failures in QLF doesn't, directly, affect points and Lewis got pretty "lucky"(well, to be really lucky is to not have a car failure, to begin with) that it happened in Hockenheim, where it's ridiculously easy to overtake with DRS and the car advantage he held, and Hungary where passing is difficult but fluked into a wet race(very unusual there) and even the timing of SC helped him a lot and kind of nulled the QLF bad luck.

Nico indeed was slower in most races, and not by a tiny bit. Usually, he finished some 3 to 4s behind and it seemed Lewis was just controlling the gap. It was not much faster but wasn't a tiny bit either. The exceptions were Malaysia and Brazil where Lewis was much faster, indeed.

As points are given in the races, Nico's superior qualifying is useless and Lewis deserved the tittle much more eventhough Nico had more car failures(not necessarily DNF) in the races

See kals, the only point I was making with that reply was that Mercedes did not favoured Rosberg, at all.

And assuming this is the case, I think it might be the first season ever where there is no 1 or 0.

Well of the final 3 races of the season, I watched 1 (Brazil).

Says a lot for how much I don't care for F1 these days.

Well, I care so little that I didn't even bother to watch the finale live. And apart from a couple of races, I was always doing something else while had the race on tv

In the past, I wouldn't remove my eyes from the screen not even in practices.

Deal with it, F1 doesn't revolve around individual fans and that's the way things will go, for at least for the short/medium future ahead. ;) You can always watch/rewatch past seasons :)

Indeed

Do keep telling us how much you're not watching though and how we're all wrong for liking the races/drivers we do

Always entertaining.
