I've got no idea who supplies fuel to F1, or indeed pretty much any racing series.

Is it just me that finds less is more sometimes? I think 18 is a nice amount, if you have too many I think an individual event becomes devalued a little.

22 will be pretty tough on teams as well, both physically and financially.

Maybe more striking is that the FIA has control of the fuel supplier in the future. Not necessarily for the prestige, but for all of the sponsorship deals.

Well I had no idea Samsung was affiliated with Renault. Seems a sensible marketing decision to badge the engine under the South Korean company for the Korean GP, this is no different to Acer badging the Ferrari engines Prost used all those years back (although Samsung Motors is actually a car manufacturer).

I wonder if half of the Korean track will be located in the city now, as was originally planned.

Building a whole city just for an F1 race was always an insane idea. I'd love to have been in the board meeting.

I remember discussing Korea with Guy Smith of all people (bit of a random name drop, but hey). I can't remember how we got onto the subject, but he said it was meant to be a street circuit. And I told him no no, they were building a circuit then going to build a city around the circuit. He laughed and then realise how mental an idea that was.

I don't mind 22 races as long as logistics work out and teams and mechanics do not get burnout. Though I'm no sure if TV companies like to send their commentary crew in 21 countries around the world. Also it depends on the season how important extra GPs are. If the championship battle stays tight until the last race, no one would object if the season was 2-3 races longer. But if one driver dominates, the latter part of the season may appear very boring and prolonged. Those new races late in calendar (Sochi and Mexico) will probably be crap in terms of racing, while at the time of New Jersey and Austria performances of the teams may not be yet stabilized and thus racing will be interesting. And the more races, the better chance of having rain in some of them

Total fuels RBR as well. Most of the Renault (or subbrands) partnered series/teams get fueled by them. I thought Williams had a deal with Total as well due to their engine contract, but I could be wrong (@kals). Might just be for oil with the rest done by Pastor's company or vice versa. Same goes for all the PSA (Citroën/Peugeot) thingies by the way. Ze French connection.

You know the way F1 likes to add value to its one make tyre supply deal by running compound rules saying teams must run 2 compounds of tyre in the races....? I hope they're not going to try any of that bullshit with the fuel supplier.... "You have to run x amount of the race on fuel mixture A and the rest on fuel mixture B...oh btw that means you'll have to come in and refuel..BWA HA HA!" Plz no!

BP Castrol supplies fuel & lubricants to Marussia and Mobil 1 is the one for Mclaren and Force India.

While 18 is way to short when several drivers and teams compete for the win and the season is decided in the last race. Logistically it's going to be a nightmare. Maybe if 75-80% of the races where in Europe it might be posible if planned sensible.

F1 must be desperate to break into the US market with all these later races (Evening in Europe=slightly more manageable time in the US Timezones)
