Surprised to have read this, harsh words from Alonso to Ferrari:

"Ferrari all talk and no updates"

oh cool, the stage of the season to hear his iconic moaning. Funny, because he threw it all away himself in Japan.

I just wonder about Alonso sometimes and whether he plays the percentage game too much. I saw Webber said something like 'Fernando is very predictable. I wouldn't say he's the toughest to race against because he is predictable. You know what he's going to be doing, which is always 100 per cent'. Which is Webber saying that if you put your car up the inside, he won't turn in to you.

I mean, I know he's really, really good, but sometimes he [and Ferrari] doesn't take that gamble when he could. You see what I mean?

I don't see any point for Alonso to go just for podiums any more. He has to give it 100% and risk falling off the track or a failure.

The funny thing is that he could have kept going for podiums if he had been more cautious in Japan. Now it'll have be all or nothing as you say.

I had the feeling that this year he did take enormous risks more often than not though. Sometimes it was heroic and justified like in Valencia, sometimes it was completely unnecessary like in Japan, but he sure has become very spectacular compared to his early titles at Renault.

It seems that Bernie is trying to get a race in France to replace New Jersey.

The FIA asked ACO to move Le Mans to the 22/23 June so it didn't clash with NJ.

Now it seems there might be a French race on the same date as Le Mans

But it means Le Mans could go back to its traditional date. And it should keep it.

Yeah yeah, heard it before.

And in a few weeks times, we'll hear more rumours, only to be dismissed by Vettel, Ferrari and Red Bull, only for more rumours to appear a short time later... and the circle continues...

Agreed, F1 "journalists" manufacture crap in order to justify their careers. Unfortunately for F1 fans like all of us, F1 is actually a tiny little incestuous world, with many big fish in a very small little bowl, and not as much going on as we all would like. :(

It's because it's a ruthless business now and one that's becoming more expensive to cover as well.

20 (maybe 30 or 40 even) years ago it'd be simpler to rock up at the European races and occasionally blag your way in - that's what a lot of the highly respected, elder journalists do. Now it's so corporate (I mean, you can't blag your way in :p) and there are what, 7 European races left now? It must be wonderful to have your expenses paid for you and everything sorted, because it's getting harder for the freelance guys such as Adam Cooper and Mark Hughes to justify the expense.

I'd like to go to winter testing next year though!

So much for Kimi retiring then hey Tobias?

As for Sutil, that's not really a surprise. Although I think the team should perhaps take on a junior driver to partner Di Resta. Promote Bianchi perhaps.

Then he should pay for it. If the state coughs out a single euro, people will riot in the streets, and the gov can't afford that as they're already on thin ice on so much more important subjects right now.

It could have gone under the radar in other circumstances, but now the're too much spotlight on it (after the Greece F1 track funding scandal and the refusal of a 2013 French GP both making the headlines in the past month).

Yeah also hoping for Bianchi. But I think he really needed the WSR title to secure his place in the Ferrari Driver Academy for next year.

Yeah that's not how it works. The British GP gets no government funding and Bernie doesn't pay for it.

Probably too soon for this question, but I wonder if the 2014 New Jersey track is underwater right now?
