I think it is about time that she (or the family) are telling the truth about the situation. I know it is a private matter, but on the other hand all those fans from all over the world I think deserve to know the truth. Or at least a tiny bit more information about the situation as is now.

Don't neceserraly think they need to tell the truth but if they don't want another journalist dressed up as a nurse/priest/doctor/whatever to find out whats going out it might be a good Idea indeed.

An official update

These updates raise more questions than answers. What are the small signs? Is it that Schumacher is responding to commands? Is it that there's specific brain activity when Schumacher hear voices? Is it that he responds to pain? Is it that there's some random movement in face muscles?
I'd rather have no updates at all than these cryptic and superficial updates. Only exact medical knowledge matters.

You are right JJ. From the official updates we hear everytime there are (very) small positive signs. But I'd like to know what exactly do they mean by that? Does he whisper with his eyes when asked? Does he smiles when asked?

To me it sounds that there is no improvement at all but that they don't dare to say it this way.

It's been 2,5 months now.

Yesterday there was an article posted on a Belgian newssite that apparently Michael has lost 20 kilo's so far in weight.

Dr. Hartstein's latest blog entry:
http://formerf1doc.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/odds-and-ends/

and from the comment section:

It does not paint a pretty picture. :(

Take this with a grain of salt as the only sources noted are an article in the Sun.

I just read on various dutch news sites that Sabine Kehm stated that Schumacher has shown signs of conciousness! Family still confident he will recover from his injury. Lets keep the hope up!

Haven't found an international source yet though...

Various 'reliable' sources in the UK (BBC, Guardian etc) are reporting it as a confirmed press release now. Positive news indeed, if Gary Hartstein's latest blog post is anything to go by.

Bild shows these as direct quotes:

Quote:

My heart skipped a beat when I saw his name on the Twitter trends, but thankfully it's good news.

I heard this news today and I could not help to think the case of Mikko Sjöblom, a great Finnish snowboarder. He struck his head seriously and was in coma for nearly four months. He recovered from that and he is today a snowboard instructor for the youth. While Mikko does carry a reminding wounds from his accident, his still working in the sport he loves and is still a great sport as he was before his accident.

So what I hope now that Michael pulls out a recovery comparable to Mikko Sjöblom. I'm really now an upbeat about this for the first time.

This does fall into the 'borderline miraculous' category, based on Hartstein's previous posts, which is excellent. I doubt we'll see him back on a motorbike or skis, but the prognosis has got to be reasonably good now.

I've been reading that he's already been able to recognize his wife. Is this true?
