Yeah, there might be one or two slight accidents during the Pre-Race sessions maybe? Let's see how everyone behaves at the start of the race and so on.

I'll be around for all the practise sessions and qualifying, but I'm going to miss the race because I'll be at work. Cheers Bernie :(

I m still hoping Heidfeld can finaly attack for the championchip...chances have never been as high as this season. :D :D :D

Me too! I was disappointed that Kubica was always the quicker of the 2 last season. But Nick was always faster in 2007 so i guess it was just the car (and his qualifying problems). Hopefully this years car will suit him :)

Thanks to andrewf1 and garbo for the additional info - have posted in the opening thread with credit where due (hope that's okay).

Also, thanks to farruquito for his help. I'll add more info and tidbits during the next day or so to make the opening thread more complete.

EDIT - so are we going to run a Fantasy F1 league this year? Not run in one since 2006 myself, but if someone wants to suggest a league we can run that'd be awesome.

It depends on which time the saving comes in to effect. In Finland it's 1:00 GMT (or 3:00 at our time).

What a stupid idea to put a grand prix on a time change weekend. FIA really knows how to do this...

I'm interested by the fact that the new rules might shake things up, but this is still F1 so I don't expect a big change compared to previous years.

After hyping it up everyone will be disappointed by a mediocre F1-Train race...nah, I really think that the rules should have changed a lot for the better.

I don't like where this is heading

Quote:
Red Bull declares controversial diffusers 'illegal'
Monday 23 March at 18:00 : Mar.23 (GMM) The spectre of official protests against the rear diffusers of three 2009-spec cars on Monday grew ever larger

Mere days ahead of scrutineering for the Australian grand prix, Red Bull's motor racing advisor Helmut Marko declared that the solutions on the Toyota, Williams and Brawn cars are "illegal"

"They have a double-diffuser which gives them five tenths per lap (extra)," the Austrian told sportnet.at on Monday

"Seven teams - including Red Bull - are united: they are illegal," said Marko, raising the probability of a formal protest at the scene of the season opener this weekend

He claims both Renault and Red Bull discussed the legality of a similar aerodynamic concept with the FIA early last year and "at that time there was a negative answer"

It's not the teams that decide what's illegal and what's not. Thank god.

And yes, fuck the one that made the race calendar this year.
