Sorta hoping he ends FP1 exhausted and prefers not to race anyway.

I've seen Alonso's '05 Renault spotted in the garages, are they going to be doing some kind of demo this weekend?

Yeah this was announced about a week ago but lost in all the other big news that day.

OK so now I hope Red Bull go full chaotic evil and respond by signing Russell. That's the best outcome at this point

Watch Hamilton drop out on saturday after FP3 and Vandoorne step in because Russell isnt allowed to switch mid weekend

Could it be a ruse to take the pressure off Bottas? If Lewis stays at Mercedes next year I'm sure he'd rather have VB as his team mate. Vandoorne wouldn't do a "Russell" on Bottas IMHO.

IF Vandoorne does a Russell while getting in the car during qualifying, keeping Bottas would be a bigger travesty than keeping Albon

pretty much. Hamilton show up, does his antics and step back to Vandoorne to show that the car isn't that great (late sandbagging) and let Bottas cruise to a comfortable victory and giving him confidence to be a good number 2 for 2021

or Hamilton races anyway, but don't get the pace for not being 100%, Bottas wins anyway and give him confidence to be a good number 2 for 2021

Wait, Hamilton's racing? Fuck

Guys, who invited Lewis? Didn't you see how much fun we had last week without him?

What was Ocon doing? Sure when Mazepin enters F1 next year this will seem innocent, but what was he thinking?

Yeaa, it's only practice. You don't need to be blocking like you're fighting for position.

Weren't Ilott and Shwartzman due to get some seat time in Abu Dhabi, or is that at the upcoming test?

It really makes you realize how spectacular F1 could still be if it wasn't ruled by dumbbells. The regulation changes for the past 20 years have truly been just a sequence of grave mistakes. It's not just ditching V10, but all the things that have led to current DRS-assisted 20-car-grid lawnmower series where one team can dominate a whole decade. If there was a breakaway series that adopted all rules from the early 2000's, I would never look back at F1. Even new A1GP would do.
